The point is there are plenty of managers who could do a better job. You don't know until you make the change though. There are names you'd never even think of. I wouldn't change Robins at the moment personally, but our form ops undoubtedly very poor at the moment. We should be doing better.

So as WhoScored now cover L1 I thought I’d have a look:

We have the most possession in the league - 54.1%, but of course this is not translating into goals

We are 4th for shots but only 0.5 have been from inside the six yard box - the third worst and the same as Bolton and Southend. Away from home is a very sorry story, it’s the worst in the league with just 0.2. 0.8 at home

We do not face many shots - only Sunderland and Fleetwood with fewer

Can we just dispel this myth please?

Hyam tweaked his hamstring and robins blasted him afterwards for not putting his hand up earlier. Robins only other centre half was Drysdale and he said he wasn’t up to it.

therefore he had no choice but to change formation. That is very very different to seeing that the current formation isn’t working and thinking, I’m going to change this now.

The only times I can remember him changing formation this season are the above example, and then earlier on when he went two up front because Hiwula did his hamstring.
Unless we count 92nd minute weird subs.

The guys either stubborn as fuck or scared to make changes, or even worse just doesn’t see things aren’t working. Love the bloke and he deserves the credit for signing the players that are ultimately capable of making us a possible promotion winning team but what use is that if he can’t deploy them properly?

With all the instability surrounding the club. Not playing in Cov etc. I think our current league position is fine. I expect to get some wins at home in the coming weeks. I'd be disappointed if we don't get 9 points from the next 4 league games. However you are ready to pull the trigger, you must have someone in mind to come in who can improve on the man who got us promotion for the first time in over 50 years and won the checkatrade with an absolute abomination of a squad.

Not playing in Coventry is going to have very little impact on the players themselves.

Half time seems to be our biggest enemy, most games we start well and we tend to dominate things first half but often after the break opposing managers tweak things and we start to struggle, missing good chances which we do too often doesn’t help obviously. Robins is doing a good job overall but his reluctance to change things when things aren’t going to well is proving costly and annoyingly we have the personnel in reserve to be able do that.
Yesterday it was obvious after an hour change was needed.

Personally I think we've done well to do as well as we have, and if we sink it's back to par.

You're supposed to learn more BY making mistakes ... let's hope it sinks in soon.

I agree current form (particularly "away") isn't great, but unless we go on a sudden nose dive and don't win in the next couple of months, no way will they consider a change in management.

Think we need to hope that come the window with a virtually injury free squad , we can off load a few who haven't been up to the mark and bring in fresh but useful faces. Assuming we haven't imploded by then, that would have to obviously be with Robins in charge.

We're not really in a position to be picky anyway, so going to have a leap of faith and lend him my vote.

The away form isn’t great? We haven’t won away since April.

Every time we suffer a reversal MR talks about the players needing to be braver. Well Mark now is the time to be braver yourself. Go two up top! It’s clear to everyone else that we cannot see out a one nil win.

Other than Shrewsbury we’ve scored fewer than any in the top half

I don’t also get that we are unlucky as we concede goals late. That’s partly I guess due to the fact we score so few goals so teams are never out of the game - it’s also irrelevant as we’ve won a lot of points late as well

if teams below us win games in band we could be in the lower half by the end of the year which given where we were is a major slump

This constant boom or bust after every win or loss is bizarre. It’s a long season and we have the opportunity to strengthen in Jan. we are one or two players away from a very strong side. How come this taxi wasn’t running on Tuesday ?

It’s not boom or bust though is it? Over a period of games we’ve flatlined - you are fixated on not losing games - you could theoretically remain unbeaten and go down

We are very predictable and teams tend to always be in the game and our away form is some of the worst in the division

No one can say it’s impacting the players not being in Coventry as it’s only St Andrews results which have kept the club in the top half. Another big game looming next week against another out of form team. Ipswich by the way also are on a very poor run themselves and cup games are different mentality matches.

I don’t think any of the top 6 teams would look at any forward we have and consider them worthy of being in their squad. Despite the fact they’ve cost more money collectively than we’ve spent for years. Is that gold do you think?

Yep-some are delusional. If we finish where we are which is one better than last season we will have done well with all the crap going on. That was my prediction at the start and I still don’t think that will be far off. If we get into the playoffs it’s a bonus.

Sunderland, Ipswich, Oxford, Pompey,Fleetwood, Doncaster - I suspect all of their forums are echoing 'end of the world, something needs changing'. Some of our players are still not fully fit yet (Allen and Godden). I really don't see that we need to be overly concerned yet. It is frustrating, but we are very close to being one of the best teams in this division. I agree that perhaps MR needs to change things more often, but not that we need to change MR.

Correct.
I think, with the players we’ve got, we’re well capable of going up. However, tactics need to change. It’s rather frustrating. Especially given the success some of our former players are currently having in teams above us.

I didn’t even mention not losing games nor playing in Birmingham.

These threads only appear when we lose and not when we win or draw.

Gotta say, I have to give it to you though, at least your consistent and are vocal about wanting rid of him and not just on the fence.

Make me laugh the amount of people who don’t want rid, “they just want him to change”. Well, if it was the case that every manger changed their beliefs, no-one would lose their jobs. Did Everton fans want rid of silva or for him to change formations, style of play etc. Of course they would rather him change than start with another manager again.

Reality is managers have set ways of playing and by and large back their own methods and playing styles.

It comes down to do you think MR is the man to be leading us. I am a yes, you are a no, it’s ok to disagree.

I guess time will tell who backed the right horse.

It’s interesting how some people treat managers different to players.

If I listed a few ccfc players....

Biamou
Kelly
McCallum
Drysdale
Pontichelli

And said “which of those would you keep and which would you get rid of?”

People would answer it, they wouldn’t say “I would keep Biamou, but I want him to change”. Response seems to be different when it comes to the question

“Would you stick with your manager or would you get rid”

We could easily get to the top 6 this season, but only 3 go up.

If someone offered me that we would be in the championship in 2022/23 I would take it. It’s very possible we will get there before. If MR hasn’t done it by then, it maybe time for a change.

If we were in the top 6 you’d have to give him a bit longer

The fact is though unless we reverse form dramatically we will slip further away so I can’t see it

He signs forwards who don’t score yet Clarke Harris now has scored more than Biamou Bakayoko and Godden combined

I doubt you’d even want him out if we managed the same results over the next 10 games as the last 10

We have a young team with young players. We need to be supporters, rather than be ready to lay into them when something goes wrong. This thread is about the manager, but I do think it's really important that we offer a united front. what is the point of sneering ta Sunderland fans having a meltdown, then starting to fuel the flames of a 'Robins out. Taxi for Robins' campaign? We are playing better football than in our promotions season 2 seasons ago, and playing better than last season. That, for me, is improvement. Wish we could get the away league victory, just to get that monkey off our back, but (rightly or wrongly_ I feel positive about the club. I can't believe many who travelled to Ipswich midweek would contemplate ousting the manager?

Sunderland fans have a right to be angry at their performance so far based on the monstrous budget they’re on compared to the rest. Even they however got a point from nothing against us because of the usual pattern of missing sitters, wasting attacks and letting in a shit goal at the end.

You can almost bank on us to take the lead and draw when away, or concede first then equalise at home.

100% this.

The last time someone started a taxi for Robins thread we went on a great run, finished in the playoffs and got promoted.

Unless we lose the next 10 games in a row (Spoiler alert: we won't) then the idea of sacking Robins is just ludicrous.
