There's a LOT of talk around "do you want promotion"? "Won't we just be whipping boys"? "We'll come straight back down"! And so on.
IF we do, by some stretch, manage it. And there's at least 270 minutes of football to go yet, but let's say we do. We have a manager that, against all the odds, with no money and no hope, kept Everton in the league. Yes, we won't be looking at top half finish. No, we won't be anywhere near a chamions league spot. Yes, we'll probably lose most weeks. But just survival in our first season would be huge and a massive stepping stone. If Brighton/Brentford/Bournemouth can do it, then by fuck so can we! You can't have a chance to stay in the premier league if you're not there to begin with!
In Lampard we have a manager, not only with experience in championship play-offs (like us, on the losing side so wanting to right that wrong) but also experience on keeping even the most doomed of clubs up. In Lampard we trust!
Now let's smash the fucking mackums!

As you said Frank kept Everton up, has some experience up the other end with Chelsea as well.
Also statistically the teams that do the best going up are not the ones that try to dominate possession and pass teams to death its the teams who play counter attacking, high intensity pressing, direct football which we certainly do at times.
I think we’d go straight back down however we’d make something of it and not just be whipping boys every week, I mean we’ve beat Wolves and Man Utd already and took the game to Spurs, we’ve got every chance.
However we’d come down a lot better off, parachute payments, stronger squad, better infrastructure etc

We've also beat Everton preseason and had results against other prem teams in recent seasons v Burnley, Leeds, Forest, Fulham, Bournemouth and all 3 relegated sides

Better to have lost than never loved.

We shouldn't be worried or scared about getting promotion. It would be difficult at times knowing you can get thumped in any game. But it happens anyway. Does anyone remember Yeovil in League 2?

As long as we kept realistic we could still have fun. Go to grounds many of us haven't seen. Have a chance of causing upsets. See what Lampard can do with his contacts as there's many capable young players at bug clubs that need the experience. We have a few players that could well hold their own against many sides.

And IF or When we came back down we arrive with a stronger squad with a few pennies in the bank we could become a side that plays at the top end of the Championship.

And by that time Doug would have bailed out and we would have a billionaire owner who wants to throw money at us.
