Oh good Les Reid is back, just what we need someone else added to the mix with their own agenda trying to stir things up.

Like him or not, he's covered more of this story and in more depth than anyone else out there. And I don't see anyone else breaking news about who the hell is behind this bid.

Nothing compared to the return of the Trinity Of Evil; Hoffman, Elliott, Ranson.

Does someone saying they've been told something on twitter constitute hard breaking news fact these days? If David Ike has a twitter account don't log on FFS, the lizard alien people are coming ;)

I think that if you are a journalist with a proven track record – Les Reid, Simon Gilbert, David Conn etc. – you're going to have a bit more worth listening to that a certain former CCFC goalie ;-)

i've heard from a usually unreliable source that the consortium is made up of Ray Ranson, Les Reid, Jo Dhinsa and Knowl from gmk

Surely this is just another conspiracy theory. Wasps are owned, I believe, by Derek Richardson (No relation, hopefully) who doesn't appear to be short of a few bob. They are known to be looking for a new home where they can build a decent fanbase, which they say they can't do in Wycombe. Maybe he is genuine and has no skeletons in his closet. Not everyone works like Sisu.

The Wasps deal may be bad news for CCFC, but they only have themselves to blame for the way they have done business.

Perhaps David Ike knows where the smoking gun is. Has anyone ever asked him?

tbf, the desire to wrench a sports club away from its home seems particularly out of the closet atm...

Fair comment in a way. Although Wasps were originally in London and Wycombe represented a move similar to City going to Northampton. It seems that quite a few rugby clubs have moved over the years, especially London teams to places like Reading or Oxford. Maybe it is more acceptable in egg-chasing circles.

Alternatively it's the curse of professionalism in Rugby, that means monied owners take clubs away from their roots.

1/2 UPDATE: I'm hearing Ray Ranson introduced Eurofin Capital to Wasps' Derek Richardson & are in consortium seeking Ricoh & #CCFC takeover

"2/2 Latest agenda may be, squeeze out #CCFC/Sisu after 2yrs as Ricoh tenants & lobby @football_league on goldn share.Could well backfire"

Sid, go read Wasps forums. It's not acceptable, they're horrified.

As for London teams relocating out of town, consider London Welsh who moved to Oxford. Attendances are falling off a cliff.

Would anyone be really shocked if the names mentioned are in fact behind the bid!!!!!! the biggest shock is LR has appeared again just like a SISU board member out of the darkness into the light.....This club gets stranger and more closer to extinction everyday and that is the most worrying thing about this all...

Just what we need to add to the mess - another Asset Management/Private Equity/Hedge Fund outfit with Finnish connections.

Im confused as to how the wasps move makes financial sense for the consortium involved , wasps getting 2k a match in wycombe , probably less than 1k average at first at the ricoh , ACL profits circa 1million last year , a 30 million debt instantly , with a guaranteed repayable loan debt of around 13 million to coventry council , i cant see the business logic in this deal .
Does the deal involve compass and the food and beverage

Once they were in bed with those certain individuals in Mayfair. In the case of Mr Coventry he was around when a certain Mr Richardson fucked the club over. Tainted, the lot of 'em.

The Club needs a fresh start.

Some people hate Elliott,Hofman and Ranson with a passion I on the otherhand reserve the same sort of passion for another group of individuals based in Mayfair

Again, fair comment. But it is for them to protest and do something about it. My concern is for CCFC and the club seem to have shot themselves in the foot by stating that they have no interest in buying the Ricoh. I despair, honestly I do.

If Sisu had any sense whatsoever they would be entering a counter-bid for the share Wasps are buying, a million or two more. The council's rules require them to get the best deal for the taxpayer within their guidelines so they could not just dismiss it out of hand. Instead they continue this ridiculous charade about building a new stadium which may as well be on the moon for how likely it is to see the light of day. I believe they don't have the money and are on an exit strategy.
