When was the last time we saved a penalty in open play. Feels like we never save them.

The last I can remember was Wilson vs West Brom in 2022

It’s normally the dubious ones that are saved. I think psychologically the player feels they shouldn’t be scoring it, and the goalkeeper is more determined to put things right.
(Unfortunately, this science didn’t happen correctly yesterday)

I was thinking about this earlier. It was Wilson away at West Brom back in 2022.

Not only do our keepers not save them, they never dive the correct way either!

Need to ask Haji Torp and Grimes what the secret is, signed in law to never be used against us no matter where their careers takes them!

Yes in normal play not in a shootout.

In shootouts, Dovin saved one against Sheff Wed in the FA Cup last season.
Collins saved one against Man Utd at Wembley.

Apart from Wilson's save against West Brom in 2022, you would have to go back to our League 2 days where a Cov keeper (Burge) saved a penalty.
