Covcity4life makes far more sense - I am pro-Thorn but a lot of people in my camp are making themselves look like real idiots on here at the moment.

Where would we be with those players...probably about 16th as that's where we finished with them.......if we had them all no way we could afford the loanees who have undoubtedly helped our cause......you cannot have it both ways sure Norwood was rated far more highly in a recent poll than Gunnar for instance?? I think Sisu made the decision to sell Juke not Thorn and results have picked up after that. It was a huge risk but ulitmatelyone that hopefully will pay off. We do not have sugar daddy unfortunately and with Finanicl Fair Play kickin in I think we are approaching thins in the right way to ensure we still have a club to support!

Hold on, you said there that getting rid of Juke was a risk. So you admit that. So, do you think SISU cashed in on Jke purely for footballing reasons? Do you think they said to themselves if they got rid of him we'd play better and pick up more points?! Fair play to Thorn and the players for getting us into this position but I won't thank SISU or give them any credit for decisions which could still, ultimately, send us into L1.

It basically boils down to would you rather have Juke, Eastwood, Mc Pake & Rod vs Norwood, Nimely & Herman. You can't have them all we have lways been a seliing club to varying extents since I have been supporting us.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm making the point that Juke was our top scorer and he hasn't been sold for footballing reasons, he's been sold to cash in. That's taking a massive risk with our clubs future. There was no guarantee we'd even get Nimely and Norwood or whoever else we may have been after and then to add to that, there was no guarantee they'd work out.

Well, considering we were on an uphill battle at the time I'm of the opinion it was a completely foolish decision. a risk too much and shows they're total lack of respect for supporters.

Craig Bellamy. Nobody wanted him, he didn't want to be here. There's a fair few transfers that are for that reason. Lee Hughes was another. Don't think Juke would have minded staying, the fans would have liked him to stay. The owners sold for no other reason than to cash in, probably thinking we were already relegated then too.

You'll have to forgive me for not having my 23 volumes of former CCFC players to hand hence making myself look foolish.

Im pretty sure over the last 125 years we've had players sold for football reasons.

I don't think anyone or anything forced sisu into giving AT any more support than the financial situation allowed for.
It is much more likely that if the soc campaign drove fans away from home matches, then sisu were forced to give less support than planned.

What Sisu did with Juke has happened with our club for years and years and years we do not have a Roman yet......we have an owner who is unwilling to fund huge losses year in year out in the tough financial climate we find ourselves in now.

Would I like a sugar daddy, hell yes of course but an irresponsible owner can leave you in a heap of shit/no club at all.

Honestly I do not think the Hoffman deal will be a sugar daddy deal.....so we will remain a selling club........will there be more transparency if they do take over.......hmm I would hope so but do not think it is a guarantee.

Yes, I get your point. I was not arguing that point. You seem to fail to see mine though. At the point they sold Juke we needed our top scorer. They didn't care and thy sold him. That risked everything in our fight to get out of the relegation zone and showed absolute disrepect to the fans.

Hi kg82 yes I get your point. I think in your mind Sisu were 100% behind the Juke deal entirely and neither the player or Andy Thorn had any involvement in the transfer? If that is entirely correct then I understand entirely your viewpoint and probably would support it.

However......

I think it was not "all" Sisu - I think Juke's head was turned by the earlier bid from Boro....his agent liked the deal and wages on offer and advised Juke to move. Juke himself at the time probably weighed uphis options and league positions and "wanted" to move to Boro......he may not have formally put in a request but I think he would have made his feelings known.

AT although did not want to lose him probably knew writing was on the wall after first failed bid to be fair.......I would think although of course he would not have wanted to lose Juke the wages and transfer fee at least allowed him to get in a few loans to freshen things up and in came Nimely, Norwood and Hermann!

I suppose neither of us will ever know the actual "whole" truth of this transfer, I said when it happened if it was decent money then it was a good piece of business.....even though I would have loved to have kept him. I just felt squad needed a bit of freshening up anyhow.

Things are probably never as black or white as seeminly the "divide" in this forum appears on both sides. I do not think sisu are entirely to blame for our predicament nor do I think they are exempt same for AT and some of the "senior" players certainly with their early season performances.
