Houchen's head you have made yourself look a bit of a moron with that statement!
If he was "having a bit of fun" as you put it then there would be no need for the sisu comment at all......I also did not see any smileys at all after he made the remark therefore not a bit of fun he was being serious.
Covcity4life makes far more sense - I am pro-Thorn but a lot of people in my camp are making themselves look like real idiots on here at the moment.
Where would we be with those players...probably about 16th as that's where we finished with them.......if we had them all no way we could afford the loanees who have undoubtedly helped our cause......you cannot have it both ways sure Norwood was rated far more highly in a recent poll than Gunnar for instance?? I think Sisu made the decision to sell Juke not Thorn and results have picked up after that. It was a huge risk but ulitmatelyone that hopefully will pay off. We do not have sugar daddy unfortunately and with Finanicl Fair Play kickin in I think we are approaching thins in the right way to ensure we still have a club to support!
It basically boils down to would you rather have Juke, Eastwood, Mc Pake & Rod vs Norwood, Nimely & Herman. You can't have them all we have lways been a seliing club to varying extents since I have been supporting us.
Everyone mentions losing Westwood, King, Gunnar etc but we did not get much money for these....
4 wins, 4 draws, 2 defeats, 16 points. Extrapolated over 40 games we'd currently be 4th in the table.
Who knows what he could have achieved if SISU hadn't ripped the squad apart.
Well done AT for a remarkable turnaround at the business end of the season.
What player ever is sold from a club for "football" reasons......? Particularly most clubs who have to sell and barter and balance the books. Regarding Juke the financial side definitely played a part but also think that Juke's head was turned by Middlesboro and he wantd to go anyhow.
In which case decision to sell partly due to player/football reasons. I agree there was no guarantee loans would work out but that is the nature of the beast. Look at Torres move to Chelsea and Carrol's to Liverpool for instance....both players moved on not entirely for "football' reasons?

Kevin Kyle, Gary Borrowdale, Michael Hughes, Julian Gray, Fat Freddy (not actually sold yet but as good as).
Well, let me throw some gasolin in the fire.
What would our league position be now, if the sisu-out-campaign never emerged?
The poor results started as the campaign accelerated and then improved as the campaign crumbled.
To those who slated me last autum when I said the unrest had a direct impact on the results: Now do you believe?
Im sorry but that is factually incorrect.
The first big anti sisu game was Derby, our first win of the season.
Hmm Coundon sky blue with those list of players you have made yourself look a tad foolish! How many of those were sold......??? Hmm sold/released are two different things. Of your list I think only Borrowdale may have fetched a fee the rest were/will be released at the end of their contract for nowt......
Well, how convenient you can pick out one game. But in fact the sisu-out movement started to gain momentum in the summer even before the season started. And looking at the period from season start till christmas when the soc started to crumble, we won two - 2! - games in 21.
Fair enough kg82 but surely anyone can see names listed by coundon sky blue were how shall I put it very wrong in terms of a reply about players bein "SOLD" for money? No-one has come back to me with a counter argument saying I am wrong and those players listed were sold for lots of money??

The SISU out protests also brought CCFC to national media attention, giving the owners some real negative publicity, which forced them to make a pretence of giving some support to the manager.
Houchen's head you have made yourself look a bit of a moron with that statement!
My point is that most transfers are for a mixture of financial & footballing reasons.
I am sure I do not have to trawl through volumes of sky blue history to find prevous owners selling players partly for financial reasons........Robbie Keane, Bellamy, Dublin, Kirkland, Speedie....the list goes on. What Sisu did with Juke has happened with our club for years and years and years we do not have a Roman yet......we have an owner who is unwilling to fund huge losses year in year out in the tough financial climate we find ourselves in now.
Would I like a sugar daddy, hell yes of course but an irresponsible owner can leave you in a heap of shit/no club at all.
Honestly I do not think the Hoffman deal will be a sugar daddy deal.....so we will remain a selling club........will there be more transparency if they do take over.......hmm I would hope so but do not think it is a guarantee.
