The CCFC page over on Farcebook has the hilarious gem that Cotterill was at the match Saturday in readiness for when he's installed by the consortium that's buying SISU out & that he'll have 10 mill to spend in January....geeeez

I'm getting pretty fed up of seeing the absolute nonsense on the Cov Fans Forum Page on Facebook.
Despite disagreements and different opinions on here, from anything to tickets to the owners, at least most of the people on SBT are here to debate everything CCFC.

The Cov Fans Forum is full of absolute nonces - with the same pattern each day:

A little chav or a block 14-16 regular posts a wind up attempt (Robins Out, Bakayoko deserves to be booed, Cotterill is set to be appointed the new manager, We're going to sign Peter Crouch, SISU have made a bid for Sixfields) and then a series of red faced middle aged men, reply with illiterate messages and believe it. Then call up BBC CWR and say 'I've heard a rumour that....'

A caller quoted the Cov Fans Forum on Saturday 'I've read on the facebook group that Robins is under pressure' and I immediately changed station.

Buy Sisu out, sack Robins, hire Cotteril, give him £10m for January, sack Cotteril after first loss, hire Robins.

Anyone who puts his feet on the seats in front of him must be a bit of a knob.

Isn't that a really old rumour, Wasn't he meant to be part of Hoffmans consortium.

Would be typical City though to finally get rid of sisu but bring in a manager who still left the fans feeling pissed off.

That would be some appointment to actually feel downbeat after SISU left. The only ones I really couldn't stomach are Fatty Evans and Steve McLaren (although he has at least a bit of pedigree) - just lost all credibility, post Umbrellagate.

Not sure how much of a rumour it is and yes it’s an obvious one with Sam out of work, ex Cov and was linked before. Perhaps he’s donating the 10 million should hardly dent his bank balance the number of pay offs he’s had

It would probably be 10m in total to buy club which clearly would go nowhere. Even if this was remotely true I am always doubtful over the footballer lead consortiums. Dean Holdsworths one jumps to mind about being a disaster

Why would someone buy us when they could buy a low-end championship club and be a lot closer to the promised land

Christ I wouldn't trust him with 10p let alone £10m.The man's a walking disaster.

Really, didn't he walk the league one title with Bristol City spending that kind of money?

The dumb rumour has it that Cotterill'd get 10 mill to spend in January then up to 50 mill to get City into the Prem.....pahahaha.....ridiculous

I’m pretty sure the big Sam one just gets regurgitated every couple of seasons. People always use the reasoning that he played for us but it’s always been my understanding that actually he doesn’t have that much love for CCFC. Way before my time as a supporter but I thought it had something to do with him being promised a contract at the end of the season and then it was withdrawn after he put in the performances that were supposed to earn him said contract after he turned down better long term opportunities when he initially signed for us. Something like that anyway.

As a side note I doubt SISU will have any interest in selling the club while the legals are ongoing. They are in the clubs name afterall. I suspect that they think they will get a bigger payday from successful court action than selling the club.

Out of interest and we did have £10 million to spend on players who would everybody want as Manager.

It would not surprise me if Cotterill was here on scouting work for another team. Apparently doing scouting work is a common way for out of work managers to 'keep their hand in' by taking expenses-only jobs whilst adding to their list of contacts and doing networking.

That comment on Facebook was clearly and obviously a pisstake! Can't believe you have bitten. Haha

The comment was.... 'May as well go for the bull and say that cotterill is getting job because new consortium is coming in to buy sisu out and want there man in as he getting £10m in January to sign players and then when up £50m to get us in prem.'

He was supposedly involved along with some chap who Orange Ken name dropped on CWR when it was all supposed to be confidential.

Surprisingly enough once the people who wanted to remain anonymous were named on the radio and started getting calls from the press the whole thing fell apart. Thats assuming there was ever any chance of it being a genuine bid in the first place.

The final sentence is the key there. If being named was enough to scare them off, it could hardly have been very serious.
