In fairness, you look at Kitching's defensive stats and they're very middling relative to the division, but on the ball he's having a strong season. Thomas' numbers are worse than Kitching's in both respects. Both are posting ridiculous numbers for their shooting.
It tells me that the overall good defensive numbers come from the collective rather than those two specifically. And I say that as a fan of both players. In fact, the individual defensive stats for the first choice back 4 are all average or worse. What's helping is we have one of the best performing keepers in the league and the best defensive midfielder in the league sitting in front of the defence.

When we played Man Utd in the SF he was their best player by a mile.Kitching to me has a similar style to Maguire
Agreed. He basically ran the game in the first half from CBWhen we played Man Utd in the SF he was their best player by a mile.
I mean, they’ve got the flu and the game is five days away….Has Lampard said anything about these 2 and Tats being back for Swansea in his press conference? Cant find anything

If they aren’t fit enough to play can we at least dispatch them to Suffolk and South Wales to ‘level the playing field’ as it were?We don’t know how bad they are but if they really do have the super flu they won’t be playing on Boxing Day.
Depends on severity I guess. We are clearly struggling, even players yesterday struggling still.Has Lampard said anything about these 2 and Tats being back for Swansea in his press conference? Cant find anything
I was thinking about thisPerformance will be down for a few weeks though. MvE and Torp are clearly still struggling.

Even if they are coming towards the end of it they need to stay the fuck away until the last remnants have gone. It's spread enough as it is.But when did they get it? That clearly makes a difference. If they came down with it say Tuesday afternoon, you'd imagine they would be ok come this Friday, thats a 10 day gap. Torp and Milan both only missed 1 game
The issue isn't when they recover from it . The issue is that they will not have trained for over a week at least,so they cannot be expected to be thrown into a match. But when did they get it? That clearly makes a difference. If they came down with it say Tuesday afternoon, you'd imagine they would be ok come this Friday, thats a 10 day gap. Torp and Milan both only missed 1 game
I have had the flu and it’s lasted a week so far and my cough wasn’t that bad but I felt shit - but then I am not a 20 year old footballer
Our baby son caught it from us at the same time he had his first round of vaccinations. He somehow fought them all off without needing to go into hospital but it was a pretty terrifying period of time once we realised. My mates son in laws has it, he's as fit as a butchers dog and it's absolutely floored him.
When did seasonal flu become "super flu"?We don’t know how bad they are but if they really do have the super flu they won’t be playing on Boxing Day.
Have you had this year’s version? When did seasonal flu become "super flu"?

Just in time for 'mega flu'.It's a new strain and because of that people haven't got as much resistance to it.
Once it's done the rounds this year we should be more equipped to cope next winter.
binley mega flu?Just in time for 'mega flu'.
Tremendous analysis. “They’re not poor defenders”. Well now you’ve said that I’m sold. Any comment on prime Maldini Dasilva’s tackle yesterday??They are not poor defenders though. Dasilva in particular has improved a lot. You talk utter bollocks to be honest
He made a bad tackle. How does that influence all his previously high quality performances for the rest of the season?Tremendous analysis. “They’re not poor defenders”. Well now you’ve said that I’m sold. Any comment on prime Maldini Dasilva’s tackle yesterday??
He made a mistake. His first big one this season.Tremendous analysis. “They’re not poor defenders”. Well now you’ve said that I’m sold. Any comment on prime Maldini Dasilva’s tackle yesterday??
He has more tackles than MVE btw…It doesn’t. Just evidences that he has no ability to tackle. Which feeds into the overall debate that he isn’t a good defender. He’s massively improved overall but there are some - mainly Procdoc to be honest - who want us to believe that because we’re doing well he has transformed into a defensive guru.

He’s been lucky with quite a few to be honest. He has more tackles than MVE btw…
Not me that keeps raising it.What a load of. He went for the ball thinking he could get there first,he didn’t.
Guy beat him to it and he took the man. Happens every week in a game somewhere. Speed the game is played at now,it’s inevitable.
He was late, got sent off,get over it and move on.
