Why would he? Potential to get a much bigger move both financially and football wise. Same reasons gyokeres and hamer didn't sign contracts
Chances are he won't I'm just saying his value stays higher for us if he signs a new contract. However I don't see him in the category of Hamer or Vik as a player.

From the club's point of view it is the right time. It's the last chance to get a huge fee before he goes into the final year of his contract.
Like we were only going to get a small amount for Gyokeres and Hamer?

He would still be under contract. And he might be under contract with a club that's just got up to the prem. He is still only 24 so value can go up as well as down. A good season for us and he would be in the shop window. Only takes 2 sides to be interested.

I'm all for selling anyone at the right price as long as it gets put back into the squad. But I'm also for keeping our best players when we can.

It's unfair to use Gyokeres as an example. I would say after he signs his next contract his value will be above Hamer at present. Another good season and he will catch the eye of many more.

So say we dont go up. His value immediately has decreased having only 12 months left. We all know money will be reinvested im not sure why anyone currently thinks differently. We all want him to stay but we have to also be realistic about when is the best time to sell, especially now we have a potential replacement in the squad

They've both appeared in videos or photos released by the club.
Ahh yes sure but I meant were they playing in the vids featuring KKH playing on the left. 😁 If so what positions were they in.

.... but his value doesn't automatically decrease! The same argument was falsely made for selling Hamer and Gyokores when they had 2 years left on their contracts, when some on here were saying take £8m for Gyokores and £5m for Hamer. Instead we got an extra year's service out of 2 exceptional players, and made an extra £25m on the pair of them.

Would you accept 10m now? I wouldn't. If a good offer comes in we would need to consider it.

A player with 2 years left on a contract is worth about the same as a player with 1 year left. You just have less options on keeping the player for longer.

Yes I would. We already have his replacement and 10 mil for a full back at this level is very good money. And having 2 years left over 1 is a significant difference in value. Teams wouldn't bother bidding high for a player they could get for nothing 12 months later. If gyokeres or hamer had longer left we would have got a lot more let's be honest.

No that would represent poor business for us and fundermentally undervaluing an asset.

No one serious was suggesting £8m for Vik and £5m for Hamer
