Tbf I imagine Kane learned on his loan spells that he wasn't a midfielder as that where he was mainly deployed. Ayari wasnt utilised in the right way with us in my opinion so I cant see how that would be good for his development. Although he did score with his cock.
We don't sell them for millions though. That is the difference, they can sell them on for a few million a pop and that is pure profit for the PRS figures. It doesn’t really, both are trying to develop players for first team football. But it is harder at Man City because of the level they play at. So they sell more off.
Just as it is now harder for ours to break into our first team now we are in the Championship.
But if you look around the lower leagues there are plenty of our ex academy lads making a living out of professional football. Which is pretty good when the stats say, less than 10 per cent of academy players nationally, go on to achieve; 20 first team appearances or more in the professional leagues Premier down to League 2.
The academy systems around the country are a bit of a year after year sausage factory. Few achieve a contract at the end of it and even fewer break through the glass ceiling to establish themselves as professional footballers. An academy has to be judged on two levels, does it occasionally produce a superstar for you. Then, does it produce professional footballers, even if they are playing at a lower level than your own first team.
he is also playing in his best position, he played as a 10 for us and is playing in his preferred midfield role for Brighton.Ayari may have learned that you need to put a shift in
His work rate out of possesion was poor.
He seemed very lightweight and as mentioned above wasn't great out of possesionThere were obvious signs that Ayari was/would be a class player, but yeah it didn't work out and it looked like he struggled physically at times.

I've seen interviews with people who have talked about this and the profit it makes them.
If Andrews cant get off the bench when we are 7-0 up at home against QPR you'd have to think he's not going to get many minutes here at all.
The sale of Sheaf and our piss poor use of the transfer window, coupled with Eccles still yet to revover from injury meant our squad is too thread bare to let him out on loan, so I can see a very frustrating time ahead for him.
Hopefully January might see him loaned out to a decent league 1 side, and getting his first international cap will do him no harm at all.
Was the perfect opportunity to give him a good run outThat's a good point about the QPR game
No one is criticising him?Why are people so critical? He's a 19 year old and at the start of his career. We have to be thankful to Bellamy (shock horror) for putting faith in him a few months ago because I am sure that has played a part in FL keeping him close to the first team squad, it will benefit him and us in the long term. As he is exposed to player like Grimes, Rudoni and Torp he will increase his potential rather than Div 1 or 2 players, likewise being around the Wales first team squad will also impact on him. He is a very lucky boy, I hope he embraces that and gets on.
Yes, they are. People do it on here all the time and I know that is where they express their opinion, I get that. However, you can't compare him to other squad member for being light weight, ineffective and the like when he has just turned 19. Why do people think everyone should be the finished product, I don't get it.No one is criticising him?

For me this is a make of break year anyway for him.
If he plays a part in our squad and season then good, but if hes struggling to even act as cover I think we will look to move him on end of the year. He will be 20 at the start of next year.
No ones being critical at all. People are just saying it as it is, and tempering the enthusiasm of those who clearly think hes going to be the next Zidane. Why are people so critical? Its sad that we didn't get him another club before the opportunity went, now hes going to miss out on at least the next 4 months of development.
Wonder who's picked his younger brother up who was the hot talk at the time? There were obvious signs that Ayari was/would be a class player, but yeah it didn't work out and it looked like he struggled physically at times.

True, but another loan would help his development a lot more than sitting on the bench or in the stand.Lampard obviously feels that he can contribute, it's not the end of his career because he's not on loan somewhere now.
The chances of the entire squad all being fit at the same time across a whole season is very slim thoughTrue, but another loan would help his development a lot more than sitting on the bench or in the stand.
With Sakamoto and Eccles now fit, and Lats not far away, I think hes going to struggle to even make the match day squad. (Imo)
It is, but I'd be suprised if any injury crisis results in Andrews getting a game due to the loss of our starting midfield 3 and Allen, Eccles and Lats. I'd be absolutely amazed if he gets a single start between now and Jan.The chances of the entire squad all being fit at the same time across a whole season is very slim though
Or defenders....or strikers.....or wingers. What’s this talk of Andrews? I didn’t think we had any midfielders?
At least you recognise our deficiency in goal thenOr defenders....or strikers.....or wingers.
Yes, but that has no baring on the fact that Man City see their Academy as mostly a potential income stream. It's a model other clubs are starting to look at following. But the skill level the Manchester City Academy is starting with is of a higher level. Their raw materials are of a better quality.
And why the game needs to introduce a squad cap of 40-odd players on professional contracts and all others having to be released.Yes, but that has no baring on the fact that Man City see their Academy as mostly a potential income stream. It's a model other clubs are starting to look at following.
