So why mention about a taxi in 8 weeks time then??

Very strange...

Not really, he has never got over the humiliation of the previous ‘taxi’ post, so he’s setting up shop to subtly tear Robins apart when we lose games.

It’s ironic that even though loads of our fans seem to hate Sunderland, some people on here are in fact becoming just like Sunderland- thinking we have a divine right to win games based on past seasons alone, ignoring basic facts such as the quality of opposition, and throwing massive tantrums when we don’t win & start chucking abuse at the players, the manager, pretty much everyone- and we’ve only played 4 games. There might well be a time this season to ask some difficult questions, but it sure as fuck ain’t now.

50pts should be enough this year. In fact I think in one of the seasons out of the past couple, a point per game (46) was enough (I may be incorrect but I can't be arsed to check)

Getting in early to bank a potential later 'told you so' is weird, there's no getting away from the last try.

Thorn didn’t have £2.5m to spend on two players - one who sits on the bench

Bloody hell. Godden’s scored in 3 out of 4 games! What do you expect, just put Walker in?
And ok, Thorn didn’t get to spend money, but there were players who had cost money in that team - Keogh, Clingan, McPake, Bell, Eastwood, McDonald, Cranie, Wood. Add to that Christie who played at a similar and higher standard after.
That argument doesn’t really stand up against Thorn. Robins has also earned the right to spend a bit of money.
I honestly thought the original post was satire of your own bumbling’s in the past, why am I not surprised it isn’t.

I believe we will stay up this season might be close to the drop but will survive.
Then hopefully we can push on from there.
We all knew our first 8 games would be tough.

Only with this one idiot.

He's still embarrassed about getting it wrong last year.

Just ignore him, absolute tool who thinks he's right all the time, even when presented with clear evidence showing that he isn't.

My opinion for what it's worth.
i don't think Bournemouth were all that, we on the other hand played extremely poorly, as bad as i can remember in recent years.
I'd be very surprised if we played like that again, absolutely nothing came of for us.
Just a bad day at the office imo

It wasn't even really one bad game considering the opposition, where we were last season and we are only 4 games in adjusting to a higher level.

A team learns more from a defeat than it ever does by winning. So in order to progress losing a few isn't a disater.

Can't agree with that at all mate.
Thought they were far superior and a look at the fees paid for some of their players strongly suggest that's the case.

Agree it was a bad day at the office against a team I think will be around the automatic spots

Grendel with another wind up to get a reaction.
Rather than take a very short term view of our current status try considering the following:

1. Compare the Current team MR took over from Slade.

2. The lack of any strategic plan for the playing side under Slade in comparison to how the different levels of the club play now. Our teams have an identity and culture of how we play!

3. The value of the current squad , given that the club is run on a neutral cost basis, in comparison to the team MR inherited.

4. The Standard of the coaching and support staff now. All appointed by MR.

5. The fact we have been promoted twice in three seasons AND achieved promotion earlier than projected in the clubs plans without the resources of some competitors.

6. Every season we have improved through the year, partly due to new players taking time to adapt.... and this year we’ve had to cope with not playing between March & September.

MR deserves more respect from some on here rather than the snide sniping!

In truth what I’m really getting at is the strange way people think

We’ve had threads on individual players who are it seems not good enough at this level (after a couple of games in one case)

We’ve had some players get a protection certificate if they get criticised

Some said we’d beat Bournemouth as they are it seems in decline

I’m told we have players who are worth millions and a couple are premier league quality

This is a mid table squad

Odd really

Agree with all that above. I think people got carried away because we beat QPR and then expectations changed. I think the majority would still see finishing 21st as the aim and in fact an achievement though. Even if we went back down though I don’t think there’s a better man for us than Robins to take us back up.

We could also look at your strange train of thought that strongly hints at getting rid of Robins by Christmas when elsewhere you’ve accepted that this season we’d be relegation favourites.

Hyam has been our best player so far. People talk about our players being sold for millions but to be sold for that amount they’re going to have be at least good as the Bournemouth players. None of them are close to that standard on Friday’s showing

No I think we need to do whatever it takes to stay in this league on that I’m entirely consistent - the club will implode if we don’t

it's been pretty much forward momentum for the club since Robins returned. But no club keeps continually moving forward without occasionally taking a backward step.
I think too many clubs are quick to get shot of the manager when that first backward step occurs.

I'm hoping we resist that temptation if we do have a poor season.
I think Grendel is saying we need to stay up at all costs because our very survival depends on it and if that means binning Robins to get a new manager bounce to achieve it then so be it.

Personally I don't agree and I'm hoping that the owners can sort out the ground situation so a relegation doesn't jeopardise our existence.

I think it's only justified if it turns into a complete car crash on the pitch and even then I'd need a bit of persuading. For example I don't see Wycombe sacking Ainsworth this season even though they'll probably get below 35 points. The ground situation has to be solved this season as even if we stay up we'll still find ourselves ground sharing but the crowds will be back

Honestly I think you have me confused with someone else and I have no idea as to what you are trying to say.

Most of the time I violently disagree with your total nonsense but vaguely understand you are a narcissist looking for attention from behind a keyboard - so these days I just mostly ignore you. Seriously not worth it.
