Wasps have played in various places in London from 1866 until 1923 when they moved to Sudbury in London and stayed there until 1996 when they moved to Loftus Road before moving to Wycombe, which is approx 20 miles from London. They've now moved to the Ricoh which is over 90 miles from what Wasps fans would consider their home.
You are equating that move to us moving approx 3 miles over the city boundary. They aren't even remotely the same.
Having had a look at the wasps forum it seems that the mexican wave did not go down well nor the language from "football type supporters".
All i can say is what were they expecting to get ?
The criticism here about wasps is because they are coming to a different town. Yes it's 90 miles. But the criticism would be there if wasps had moved 4 miles. The hypocrisy is that when it suits, I.e. when CCFC move into someone else's town it is ok, but when anyone comes to Coventry - Wasps, Blaze - it is " just wrong ".

If Wasps had been playing for over 100 years in Nuneaton but were in a similar situation to us, had sold their old ground for some reason and ended up with nowhere to play so had been playing in Northampton for the last 10 years (similar distance they moved away initially) and purchased the Ricoh as they'd been turned down trying to build a new stadium in Nuneaton and it was as close as they could get that would be a vastly different situation to moving a traditionally London based club to Coventry.

Did not want to come on here and mention the W word but had to comment on today, firstly there were lots of Cov Rugby fans and proudly showing there colours and shirts. As an ex player myself it was great to see so many junior Rugby clubs represented at the games wearing club badges and colours. Met some great olds friends, many who had never been to the Ricoh but all said they would be back ( including the Coventry Rugby lads). As far as they are all concerned it's a massive get together of people who like to watch a game on a Sunday, never going to interfere with there Saturday's.
Also worth noting there were a lot of Coventry City fans present and I wager most will be back again as some point.

Oh get a grip MMM. The 'hero' Coventry kid Andy Goode, who loves his city so much he's never played for the club which bears its name and has made his name at nearby Leicester instead. Wasps are not hoping that these kids stay neutrals, you and I both know that.
Played for Barker Butts then moved to Worcester I believe.
