You’re not looking at the bigger picture, it’s clear what’s needed and all we’re being linked with is a kid (who may be brilliant) from Chelsea on loan for 6 months. If we add some experience in cm and at cb then the season can be saved
It’s not as easy as bringing in X, Y and Z player, expecting them to perform and save our season.

Take signing an older more experienced player, more likely to get injured, more likely to be fatigued and not cope with the demand of the league.

Whilst signing a loanee from Chelsea is not a perfect situation, the reality is that position is the one we’ve been desperately needing to fill for a long time.

I've just been reading how Leeds are interested in Ben Davies from Spurs. Looks like a hugely experienced CB but suspect his wages would be more than we could stretch too

the reason the loan makes sense is we have clearly identified a way we want to play and FL feels we need a midfielder that can pick up the ball from the cbs and play swiftly through the press

if we get this in we can then start to play more like he wants and then that means it will be easier to plug in a permanent signing in the summer into the team

I'd be happy losing Lats, Collins, Tavares and JDS if it meant S Rak Sakyi, Harvey Vale and a experienced CB were coming the other way.

Be good to see if Burroughs or Howley have anything to add to the squad. FL needs to find out sooner rather than later if he thinks they can make squads.
That scenario isn't going to happen 😂

He was awful on Saturday but there were three or four bits where he looked like a really good footballer
I’m not sure we’ve seen his best
Same, he was brought in as back up to make the squad stronger, once wrights back, doubt he’ll be starting anyway, he’s a good option of the bench. I’d keep him next season

Wow how amazing are our so called supporters!!!! Begging for one of our players to go pathetic the lot of you!
The amount of abuse BTA gets is unreal, yes he's performances haven't been good but has shown in some games there's a good player there (like the game vs Blackburn) he's just not been consistent and that will come when his confidence ain't shot to bits, he was baggies top scorer last year and the year before that I believe, he will come good.

People will probably laugh or slate me but I don't care, people slated Wright last year calling him a donkey but he came good, Simms last year got slated but came good scoring goals, EMC got stick this year then came good and I believe it'll be the same for BTA

It’s been terrible this season for digging players out, some Of the posts have been embarrassing,
I agree, I've really enjoyed being part of this forum for the last few years during the highs and lows but some of the comments on here about players has been quite depressing this season. I don't get all the hate, you're not true fans in my opinion

Lati to Burnley then? Or is this bull? Heard a snippet that he’s going there.

May be right. He was on their radar in 22 and 23 transfer windows.

Well said and we’ve got prat’s still pining for Robins.
Or alternatively we have fans who have a real understanding and complete respect for what Robins did as one of our most successful managers of all time - he saved this club from L2 and complete despair and took it to a penalty shoot out from the Prem.

28-29K fans in our stadium - that's down to Robins.

For those who remember the dark days, a club without a home and free falling down the leagues in front of 6,000 that is out of this world and I never thought I would see it.

We move on but any fan who shows disrespect to Robins shouldn't be wearing the scarf.

100% right Becksy. Some of here have very short memories of how far we have progressed over the last 7 years. I now avoid this site after a loss as the usual Clowns (most who honestly have never even played for a pub team) kick off and do what they do best - abuse targeted players and the team.

Mark was one of our best managers, what he did for our club is something we will never forget and rightly so, a period of stability and good times, taking us from League 2 up to that playoff final plus the semi final vs United.

But he has gone and is stoke manager, we should move on too. Lampard is our head coach and I'll back and continue to back him like I did with Robins, nothing lasts forever.

Mark Robins should have a statue regardless of this season.

Lampard has my backing until he’s sacked or leaves and another manager comes in.

Don’t know why it’s turned into Lampard vs Robins on here.

It's hard for Lampard because of the last stint at Chelsea and the Everton job (we all know about the situation at both clubs) he's up against it, he's up against it we a section or two of our fans because he's come into replace a guy with 7+ years of success, who's loved by the fans so he's up against that. I like Lampard, good football knowledge and really likable guy, he's not done too badly and will get the players (hopefully) he needs to succeed and I think he will.

It's not just a Lampard vs Robins on here, there's a lot of people who like to argue with each other , I read and carry on but there's a lot of goading one another and it gets boring sometimes mate, I put my point or view across and that's that or comment on who I think we need or who I think we should go after, people might not agree some probably do and that's what this forum is about not slag each other off

He barely starts right now?

Lampard obviously wants to play 4231, where does that leave BTA? Arguably 4th choice at striker (behind Simms, Wright & Bassette). He's looked fairly awkward on the wings, would be 3rd choice on the left anyway and you'd hope we'll bring in a RW or Raphael steps up.

He's not particularly good at getting chances and not great at taking them when they come either.

Realistically if we can get near what we paid for him at any point you have to take it.

Always hard to come in after a club legend, then you add the rest like you said and it’s worse.

Think Lampard will do well here. Have been wrong before (Thought Pressley would get us from the Championship) but I think you have to back the manager regardless of whether you wanted him.

Course it’s not what I wanted but you know always next time 🤣
