We've got a one year option on Shipleys contract so don't have to let him go for free in the summer.If we keep Shipley till the end of the season we let him go on a free which seems a waste (unless he does a Allen and earns himself a new contract but it’s one more space we can’t replace and ideally need better)
Personally, if we can sell him in Jan I’d take the money rather than losing him on a free when he might not play much anyways. Any money we get keeps us afloat and means we can try avoid selling someone else

Agreed, sell him now and make a few bob and be done with it. We have Jones who we can play AM instead of him and soon will have two left backs and Josh Reid as 3rd place back up. Then we have O’Hare with Allen or Jones for AM.
Fred’s up a bit of wages and hopefully brings some coin in so we can look to get someone else and think more long term picture

Would he be happy to sit on the bench for most of next season?Alternatively, take the option and make him reserve LWB next season and use the resource we would’ve spent there elsewhere.
