Can't help but wonder if there is something going on with the club and Jag. Club have been leaning very heavily into the "motor city" tag in their press and socials lately and 2 jags featuring front and centre in our "we are back" celebration vid. Given Jag are on the cusp of a complete relaunch with a whole new model range (and a complete shift in focus as well) is a relationship with us part of that new marketing?

JLR recently reaffirmed it's committment to Whitley as it's global HQ and centre of its EV research and design too and an expansion of its EV partnership with Warwick Uni.

they should sponsor us. i've thought that for a while, but now we are prem they really should.
Don't see them being the shirt sponsor. It wouldn't really fit with their new überluxury demographic and Doug has already alluded to Monzo staying onboard but I definitely think they are going to be involved somehow.

JLR never once bothered with CCFC but could not wait to jump into bed with The London Wasps when they pitched up - I am petty enough to say fuck 'em

Well Jaguar did once agree to sponsor the indoor arena. It was agreed without ford authorisation and led to a lot of people getting into a lot of trouble.

Manufacturers like JLR won’t invest anything into this - it’s not what they choose to do. The Wasps deal was arranged through an insurance premium based of achievement and cost the company hardly anything

Regarding Jaguar and sponsoring the hall, the story we heard at work is that a guy visited to discuss sponsorship, but got a bit away and shook hands on a deal to sponsor the lot. I think he got excited at the idea of a giant Jaguar being seen from the M6.
When he returned to work the shit hit the fan, but the only way to get out of the deal was to sponsor the hall.

Yes I meant the authorisation was regarding the entire stadium - poorly worded. It was all very embarrassing - agreed by a WBA fan oddly as well

Depends if they demand the kit be pink and the players androgynous looking

More a comment on Jaguar's disasterous marketing strategy than anything dear, bemusing and hardly a good fit with football IMHO.

The jaguar product is being all but phased out by JLR

Depends how you look at it. Jaguar had become largely irrelevant but after that marketing campaign everyone was talking about them, which is what it was designed to do. If you look at the stuff they are putting out now it's entirely different - the latest youtube teaser is all heritage stuff and e types galore.

That's one take. But the any publicity is good publicity doesn't really work for brands. Probably why all the big ones have PR and adverse publicity programs to stay the right kind of known.

Regardless, I think the net effect was not what Jag were hoping for (97% sales slump);

The sales slump may be linked to most models being out of production until the new all electric cars are launched.
