Most Iranians will also not want Israel and the US to dictate who runs their country.

They are still mainly on the streets praising Trump now. I’m sure that irks you but that seems what’s being reported?

Why do you care if it’s not in the UK?

Clearly events in the Middle East have direct consequences in the uk - both financially and security wise.

It’s why if it happens you hope it moves swiftly and does not drag on into a long conflict.

You're trying your best to be mischievous again, but the Iranians I'm speaking to aren't so much mourning the Ayatollah as they are not wanting Israel to decide who runs the country. Which is quite fair enough.

What Trump has done is wildly illegal by the way and yet another thing he should be impeached for.

Judging the merits of a massive military operation by how happy or sad certain people are at a leader’s death is the kind of analysis you’d expect from a 10 year-old.

Im not. On the kuensberg show they have an Iranian journalist on the show and she admits she’s genuinely pleased he’s dead.

Guess she’s in the minority

With respect the whole reaction on here is kindergarten stuff. So why not join in.

Oddly also it’s the first question Kuensberg has asked all the guests on her show!

Guess you should demand she leaves and get a certain heavyweight expert journalist from somewhere in Essex to take over!

Wow, well if Laura “Kuensberg” says so!

It’s a natural question to ask, but using it as your sole barometer of whether this action is a good or a bad thing is primary school levels of analysis

People in Libya were delighted about Gaddafi's death
People in Iraq were delighted about Saddam's capture
People in Syria were delighted about Assad's removal

How did things go in those countries afterwards? My point is that when on one side you have Israel who have murdered nearly 100,000 people in Gaza (which now apparently matters after months of you asking why we should care), and an Iranian regime who have killed huge numbers of their own people, who actually are the 'goodies' here?

Nobody is. But it is still US law that Congress has to give approval for war-Trump hasn't sought it.

Well I guess if you think she’s a 10 year old fair enough. She’s asked it to Zack Polanski - he seems less keen

Well if I guess if you’re used to watching the Jeremy Vine show she must seem like a heavyweight

Are you wearing your Greens rosette while tuning in?

Certainly not the ones that chanted ‘death to England’ last year

There’s no real goodies in the world. It’s unfortunately not that simple. But if you’ve got to ‘pick a side’ I’d always go with the one that shares more of our values and beliefs and doesn’t despise our way of life etc and that’s not the Islamic Republic of Iran

I don't see how the State of Israel which has murdered nearly 100,000 people and openly admitted the desire to carry out ethnic cleansing shares our values any more than Iran does.

Even taking that to one side, the US haven't even followed domestic, never mind international law in doing this. Trump has carried out acts of war against Venezuela and Iran without seeking congressional approval. People like you can't even bring themselves to admit that much.

Between this kind of stuff and “people are celebrating so the war is good” I feel like we’re on some kind of 2003 speedrun. Amazing how quickly the nuance disappears.

I’ve tried to be nuanced in my posts on this and the other (Trump) thread if they haven’t come across that way so be it but I was quite clear I didn’t want us involved in any war, thought that Trump will do what’s best for him first and then America and that Netanyahu is a war criminal

The fact is I despise everything that the Islamic state stands for, as much as they despise us (an our way of life) so said they deserve what’s coming to them

If you want lack of nuance maybe look elsewhere
