I absolutely take your point, but the whole POINT of BBC Verify is that they have checked their bloody facts! It's the fact-checking arm of BBC News! I would prefer to believe first-hand accounts from people i think are trustworthy, such as John Simpson, BBC World Affairs Editor, who has been on the ground and reporting from the Middle East since before the Islamic uprising in Persia in 1979 (and got himself on the plane to report on that event, defying his Editor's express orders!). He said on 5Live this morning that don't believe anything either side says currently, as there is no way to prove it. The BBC have been banned from Iran since they launched their BBC Persian service in 2008, which the regime regarded as tantamount to an act of war.The sign of a decent media outlet isn’t never getting things wrong.
