Isn't today the day that labovitch said they would reveal the new site(s) for this new ground?

Has there been any news or is it just the usual hot air?

Apologies if today isn't the day.

They should really just be more vague and call it imminent or forthcoming. You could stretch that to years if you wanted.

I can officially confirm that an announcement is soon to be on the cards in the near/far future. This is certainly a possibility.

Gotta love 'em haven't ya ... it's almost like they went to a business college to learn best practices, customer commitment, marketing, finance, sales tactics and the importance of clear and cohesive communications and then chose actively to ignore every single bit of it and do a 180 ... just to see how badly someone can run a busines .... and to be fair to them, they've proven it can be ran very badly indeed ... so congratulations are in order ... strategy and objectives achieved ... well done ! :claping hands:

To be honest, as amusing as this is, the longer they wait to get cracking on this new stadium the more chance we have of returning to the Ricoh.

Look, the stadium site will be revealed in 3 weeks. Stop asking every 6 months.

I heard him say yesterday he was misquoted and you can't rush property deals. He also said when asked that he thought the petition was important to sign as football does need to ensure owners are suitable

He actually said - Could be as EARLY as 3 weeks.

Well to be accurate Labovich claimed he had been misquoted and actually said could be as early as 3 weeks however this was followed by the journalist who wrote the piece coming on here and tell us he didn't misquote Labovich and he had said a definate 3 weeks. Given Labovich's track record with the truth I know who I believe.

ML has since told the SBT and CWR that he was "mis-quoted" on the 3 week prediction. This is despite the fact that the CT journalist has subsequently confirmed that he did, in fact say, according to his shorthand notes, the following:

He said: “We are about three weeks away from being able to name the final site. We are down to two sites and hopefully, within a month, two will be down to one."

Now, somebody is not telling the truth, are they? Mmmmmmmm.......?

How long does it take to basically buy a bit of grass?

It's a joke really, this is the easy part of the process! I thought they'd at least buy a bit of land (which they can sell on later without really losing anything), get some off the shelf plans and submitt for planning permission. That's all relatively easy to do even if you have no intention of building the ground. Getting on for a year in and they haven't got any further forward then when they started!

SB – Is it true the ground location will be named in 3 weeks?

ML- No. Another distorted conversation. CET rang up to ask about recent interviews. Journalist asked where the new site was. I was then misquoted. He said how long till you can announce? I never gave a timescale. I said at a minimum around a month but said that I wouldn’t quote a timescale because youjust can’t in property deals – it could take months and months. The elder statesman of Coventry & Warwickshire property, Harvey Williams, likes to remind people that just to negotiate the lease at Rytontook two and a half years!

I say really that is Labovich calling simon gilbert a lier, it's not like it's a slight misquote, of course the truth is almost certainly that Simon quoted him accurately and Labovich is lying.

I do understand fully why you can't let people know a general area for the perspective purchased land.

In this day and age if someone finds out where you plan to put your stadium they will quickly jump in and place theirs there first. It is a nightmare, every week the local estate agent is having to fend of dozens of rogue stadium builders demanding to see the latest large site (just outside Coventry) suitable for a stadium. It is getting so fierce out there that last night a stadium builder was caught measuring up my mother in law for a pie stand.

It's good therefore in my opinion that they keep this all secret, even once built.

With each new announcement comes a new deadline, and I do understand why. I think you find that all these deadlines for announcements about locations of Stadiums made by Sisu are simply deadlines to announce the announcement, of the announcement, of the announcement, of the announcement, of the announcement, of the announcement,of the deadline to tell everyone that a stadium will be built....somewhere.
