It wouldn’t be on the same scale money wise as the example but we need to go and drop proper money on a big PL loan or two like Villa did with Abraham to get over the line.

We’re probably as good as in the playoffs already so you will at least have the extra income from that to offset a bit should we not make top two. It would genuinely be mental from Doug not to throw a couple of million at such a glorious chance.

I would have some sympathy with a reluctance to sign permanent players in January, particularly when you can legitimately say we don’t know what league we’re buying players for. It isn’t the time for prospects ideally.
