It’s the only thing, I think. But people need to learn not to overreact, the window opens in under a month and we aren’t going to blow our entire lead in that time.
Well, yes it does open in under a month, but that doesn't mean we are necessarily going to get players in on day 1 in January, sometimes it doesn't happen until the end of the window.

Those extra few weeks could be crucial.

Slept on it, still fine. The third was annoying as it makes it look a panning. We should have been ahead first half, played well. Players missing, shit ref, probably the hardest game of the season Ipswich away.
We will lose games, some people on here have got a bit entitled I think.
Hopefully Torp and Sakamoto to come back and we can bounce back and get something at a real bogey ground.

As others have said, we must bounce back at Preston. A good performance and a draw is the minimum required.

If we lose, I can see us failing to win any of our next three games and then the pressure will really be on. If that happens we will have lost our momentum, our confidence and a big chunk of our lead.

It's not a prediction as to what will happen but an expression of my concern. Supporting the Sky Blues for nearly 63 years does that to you 😆

That would be such a boost. 3 points and to break the hoodoo.

As they say, it's a funny old game. We lose on Tuesday and Middlesbrough could only be 4 points behind.

Not saying it's going to happen (I think we will get at least a draw on Tuesday), but another loss and any more players injured and the wheels could come off a little.

We need 4 points from the Preston/Bristol games I think. Just to keep the momentum going

Every game is different and the order is what it is. I think a point at Preston would be decent if we backed it up with a home win vs Bristol.

Kai Andrews has got a bit of class about him. Just needs to get up to speed with championship

I really like the look of this lad.
Strong in the tackle, physical, always looking to receive the ball, happy to have it in tight areas, not scared to take a player on.

Control lets him down occasionally but I think he'll break through at some point.

Still think he should go on loan if he's not going to get more minutes than he is currently, though given our lack of numbers, maybe best he stays.

One of those days. We were the better team first half by a long way. Don’t get the returns predictions for the next few being anything other than wins. We’re the best team in this league - let’s just go and win

I thought the complete opposite, he looked nervous and out of his depth. Not sure he'll make it with us.

Preston and Southampton away are very tough games. Bristol City isn't exactly easy either.
Preston are pretty shite, the only reason people fear them is our record there but that means nothing. Bristol at home is very winnable.

Southampton will be hard but fuck me you act like we are 7 point clear and haven't only lost games when we have players out and shite refs.

The record clearly means something because we've never won there!

Watching the highlights back, Eccles yellow was a definite yellow, and again once again another booking for petulance.

Hirst should 100% had a second yellow and been sent off for doing the same thing.

Yellow was right for their keeper.

In the calm light of a new day we need to see yesterdays game for what it was. I know the referee made poor decisions, but if we are going to win this league we need to be able to beat teams 11 v 11. Yesterday Ipswich seemed to have worked us out with the gk nullifying the long throw and a high defensive line at free kicks reducing the threat that BT poses. We had our chances in the first half and didn't take them. The second half saw us chasing the game, and it became stretched, leading to their two goals.

My concern is our lack of quality in depth. I was at the Wrexham game where, as yesterday, we were lacking key players, and it shows that we are not the formidable force that some assume we are. KKH started in both the Wrexham game, and yesterdays, the only two we have lost. Not blaming him entirely for both defeats but in both games the opposition counter attacked with pace, and we could not match it.

Despite thier current run of form I see Ipswich as a benchmark, having just come down from the league we aspire to be in, and it shows the improvement we need to make if we can achieve that dream, and then stay up.

Doug needs to trust in Frank and give him the funds to improve the squad in January to ensure we do not fall off the pace.

Oh well onwards and upwards to Preston on Tuesday, and lets not forget that after the last defeat we went on a run of five wins on the bounce.

In hindsight I wonder if we should have started with an extra man in defence and played more on the counter as Ipswich have struggled against teams playing the low block. Obviously we started brightly and had KKH taken his chance or Eccles' shot gone in or Hirst gotten sent off (which he should have been), the outcome could have been different. If we had our full complement of BTA, Saka and Torp, I'm confident we would've won, but we're obviously stretched at present. Maybe we should look at games against parachute teams (all of whom have started to pick up wins of late) especially away from home a little differently and implement more conservative strategies/tactics to give us better odds of at least getting draws and not losing. Just my thoughts.
