Investment ? Very intriguing and this rumour/debate will fill these pages for the days to come. I will ask this question. It was put to me the other day before this rumour became public that the SBT meeting which was happening this Monday was put off for a week in anticipation of some news. Could this be the need ?

was it not put off because of change of location?

Someone recently put up a good article on the rise of RB Leipzig.
All I know is they took over a small I think ninth tier team close to the city and totally rebranded them.
The club is hated in Germany as they see it much like MK Dons here as a franchise, which it is obviously. I think in a recent game the game was held up for quite some time as opposing fans went on the pitch to demonstrate about how the club came about. To get round the law you can't name a club after a business they call themselves Rasen Ballsport Leipzig with the emphasis on RB,
They rose through the leagues very quickly and support in and around the city grew and now Red Bull are building a 80,000 seater stadium in the south of the city.
There is still Locomotive Leipzig who the older ones will remember in the city who are in the fourth tier I think, but Leipzig is a big city so can support two clubs.
I think most of the above is correct ish

Leipzig is top of the Bundesliga. I am in Leipzig at the moment. My RB fans say there is a rumour that something is going on in England. A rumour of a rumour probably.

Leipzig are gaining respect e.g. from Klopp and the manager of Dortmund.

Lok turned Red Bull down and they went to another team- which now exists again as a second string team to RB.

If there was a new investor such as Red Bull for the millions they would hopefully put in they would demand full control of the club in my opinion,

I think any investor would takeover the club lock stock and barrel and SISU would be gone. Who in their right mind would want any of SISUs baggage?

Ohhhhh please let this be true... i have supported Ccfc for almost 50 years how I would love to see maybe a little success for myself and the younger supporters.. we change our shirts every couple of years and we have had our nickname for a number of years and while I would like ys to keep our identity after the past 10 years or so of shit we have had to contend with i wouldnt give a flying fuck what colour we played in if it meant us actually having something to support once again !!!

Interesting to note that several years ago there was a clear majority of posters who were against changing the club shirts or image.. the attitude was 'we're the Sky Blues and we can't change that'

I sense a sea change and I'd say it is because we're desperate to get rid of SISU.

Yes. More care needed.

Do you think the Cov Telegraph had wind of 'something like this' before they embarked upon their campaign? Certainly some people hinted that might be the case.

I did wonder at the time. It seemed slightly...surprising they'd be so passive for so long, and it's often worth asking the question 'why now?' when it comes to the Telegraph. Pretty sure they ride the coat tails of movements rather than try to lead. Another thing that's worrying and a shame really.

That being said, even though the OP is more reliable than most of the made-up-bollocks you get off t'internet, I'll believe this when I see it!

Maybe the club have been in negotiations for a while and the telegraph wants to play heroes like the return to the Ricoh campaign

I remembered true heroes last week on Remembrance day, I wouldn't hold people who chose to not attend a football match in such esteem that you do.

By the way I didn't attend. I am no hero.

We weren't always the Sky Blues of course. That came from Jimmy Hill rebranding the club in the 1960s. At the time that created a new awareness of the club. We survived that change.

Got to be 100% new management, no Fisher, no Seppala, no text a sub.

Fisher would go, no way Seppala or Sisu would without being paid off. And I'd accept that.

As much as I hate the cunts, I hate the state of the club far more and if it's a chance between just Sisu or Sisu and investment, I know which Id choose.

We have to hope silence is golden, there's been little comment other than a phone call to the SCG meeting three weeks ago by Fisher. When you consider all the things that's happened recently such SBT suggestion to takeover the running of the club, Acadamy and Ricoh situation all seemingly hanging in limbo and we have had both the manager and the ceo resign we have to hope there's something occurring behind the scenes.

A prospective buyer like Red Bull or even Jaguar Land Rover might well fancy buying both Cov and Wasps because there are 2 potential routes to success for them.

One thing to bear in mind is that JLR have just failed to buy Silverstone. The Ricoh + Wasps + Cov could be very attractive for them specially if the can develop the ajacent land as a JLR motor heritage museum and race track.....

JLR are not going to buy a Football team but a Chinese magnate with a connection to them just might if it involved playing at the JLR Arena. Its all speculation though isn't it.

The fascinating thing about the possibility of a Red Bull takeover is that the job they need to do at Cov is exactly the job they have already done at Leipzig.
The 2 key issues are of course:-
a. How much would it cost to get rid of SISU ?
b. How important would it be to them to own their stadium ? If it is a deal would have to be done with Wasps. It rather depends on how much money they would have to spend on the project. It may not be that important, after all Man City, West Ham, Swansea and Hull don't own their stadiums to my knowledge.

Of course it might not happen but it's nice to think about it though !

5 things that could be announced at midnight

1. Simons book is being discounted at a shop near you
2. Wasps are having a xmas party
3. CCFC have put the price of pies up, meaning they are now the most expensive in the division
4. The 2028 world tiddlewinks championships are coming to the Ricoh
5. The announcement of the appeal from SISU, which is due about now

No, there were employee briefings Friday about latest council cutbacks amongst other things it is proposed to change bin collections to alternate weeks, food waste to go with brown lid garden bin and that to be collected all year round, cutting street cleaning and parks and grass cutting to be cut back there are other things too, voluntary redundancies also, all to be announced officially tomorrow and this news was embargoed until Monday. I think Mr Gilbert will know this and being a bit of a smart arse to tease a little it could be ccfc related.
So that's blew a hole in that little secret, embargoed my arse!!
