Just booked Eccles for shooting and Hurst does exactly the same?
What’s the rationale??

Every week.

I thought it couldn't get worse than that horror decision against MVE last week but it somehow has.

We will get something soon but unfortunately referees are playing make a wish foundation every week so far.

Absolute joke of a decision by the ref to not send of Hirst. Just another consistently, inconsistent official. After that decision, every other time someone kicks the ball away they got booked. Their keeper was MOTM, boy we missed BTA, Saka & Torp.

You aren't going to win games if refs constantly give decisions against us.

We got away with it last week against Charlton when the ref decided to miss a red card and a penalty against MVE.

Well the ref potentially cost us the game, not that we were that good and the ref potentially cost us the game against Wrexham with off sides etc...

It's up there as one of the worst decisions I have seen in a Coventry City game in recent times.

Oddly enough, the one that I remember the most in recent times was another "Premier League referee" Anthony Taylor away at our good friends Preston. Fadz tries, and misses, to pull down the Preston striker going through on goal. The striker misses the chance, and Taylor brings it back for a penalty and doesn't red card Fadz even though he was last man and did not make a genuine attempt to play the ball.

I think this one is worst, because I would argue it wasn't even subjective. It was the exact same situation as Eccles, the one Ipswich players were screaming at the referee to give. It's just beyond comprehension because there is literally no "I can see why the referee did x" perspective.

We were not poor in the first half best team easy for 40 minutes he stays on and scores the crucial 2nd goal.We were poor 2nd half chasing the game after they scored the 2nd.

Let’s not start blaming the ref for defending shit and being miles off it, yes it was a second yellow but we need to look at ourselves

No one is, they just want to know why simple decisions go against us every week.

I agree with this. Our squad is being stretched and we lost to someone with a better depth. That’s where our focus should be.

One of those times I wish we could hear his explanation, but of course we'll never get the luxury of that. He'll probably offer a lip service explanation to Lampard or one of the coaching staff, then sod off home feeling really pleased with himself for a job well done and that'll be that.

Was he the only reason we lost today? No. Poor defending cost us, and we can't keep having to rescue games like we are at the minute because it's going to catch up with yoy eventually. But that doesn't mean the ref should be allowed to get away with such disgraceful inconsistency, especially when there are examples of it at this level pretty much every week now.

Every week the referee is accused of bias and gives decisions against us - we’ve lost only 2!

He will say the player didn't hear the whistle because of crowd noise, even though Hirst stopped and then shot at goal. Shit slaphead refs R Us.

Thought considering the circumstances we matched them , don’t think they were anything special , fine margins because he booked Eccles by his own standards Hurst is off .. wasn’t a 3-0 game some sloppy defending let us down , thought Rudoni wasn’t his usual self today

I don’t like to blame ref’s but thought some of the decisions today were poor, Hurst not getting a second yellow for the same offence as Eccles was unbelievable and it didn’t look like a free kick against EMC in the lead up to the first goal, I could be wrong as I didn’t see it back.

I also didn’t see if the keeper handling outside the box would’ve prevented an obvious goal scoring opportunity, but given where the free kick ended up taking place I am assuming not, so a yellow is right. Unless anyone has a still of the hand ball?

1. Yes it should have been a 2nd yellow based only on consistency. Ipswich fans are saying he didn’t hear the whistle over the crowd but he clearly pulled up before kicking it away.
2. Yes we (probably) would have won if there was a red card.
3. I can’t be bothered looking up the wording of “deliberate” handball but possibly a red missed there as well.
4. No complaints about the loss. Once there was no red we had lots of time to regroup but were outplayed although the final result was flattering to Ipswich.
I don’t want games to be decided by red cards for either of those “minor” offences but rules are rules and the ref had a stinker (again)

The club should put in an official complaint. And the incompetent knob should be suspended. And made to watch Leicester every week..

Why are Ipswich allowed to handle the ball wherever they want on the pitch but no other goalkeeper is?

So in relation to handball, it’s only deemed a red if it prevents a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity.

Rules says deliberate handball is a red card offence! It doesn't say if you think it is!
