Just booked Eccles for shooting and Hurst does exactly the same?
What’s the rationale??

Total disgrace that ref. Ok Ipswich was the better team but hurst should have gone and we would’ve won .Just booked Eccles for shooting and Hurst does exactly the same?

Pete we cant blame the ref for today , we were poor and comfortably beaten second halfJust booked Eccles for shooting and Hurst does exactly the same?

We would have won if he’d been consistent the whistle went ages before the shot it’s just not okPete we cant blame the ref for today , we were poor and comfortably beaten second half
It was a poor decision but ultimately we didnt get it and we just werent good enough

Well the ref potentially cost us the game, not that we were that good and the ref potentially cost us the game against Wrexham with off sides etc...
It's up there as one of the worst decisions I have seen in a Coventry City game in recent times.
Oddly enough, the one that I remember the most in recent times was another "Premier League referee" Anthony Taylor away at our good friends Preston. Fadz tries, and misses, to pull down the Preston striker going through on goal. The striker misses the chance, and Taylor brings it back for a penalty and doesn't red card Fadz even though he was last man and did not make a genuine attempt to play the ball.
I think this one is worst, because I would argue it wasn't even subjective. It was the exact same situation as Eccles, the one Ipswich players were screaming at the referee to give. It's just beyond comprehension because there is literally no "I can see why the referee did x" perspective.
We were not poor in the first half best team easy for 40 minutes he stays on and scores the crucial 2nd goal.We were poor 2nd half chasing the game after they scored the 2nd.Pete we cant blame the ref for today , we were poor and comfortably beaten second half

We were ok 1st half , but better than them yes .. we werent good thoughWe were not poor in the first half best team easy for 40 minutes he stays on and scores the crucial 2nd goal.We were poor 2nd half chasing the game after they scored the 2nd.
@Sky Blue Pete thinks we played excellent, and then he sobered upWe were ok 1st half , but better than them yes .. we werent good though
Let’s not start blaming the ref for defending shit and being miles off it, yes it was a second yellow but we need to look at ourselves
I agree with this. Our squad is being stretched and we lost to someone with a better depth. That’s where our focus should be.Let’s not start blaming the ref for defending shit and being miles off it, yes it was a second yellow but we need to look at ourselves
It’s a bias in favor of Ipswich. It’s always been there. We've had blatant penalties turned down and that disgrace today do you think theres a bias starting against us?
You aren't going to win games if refs constantly give decisions against us.
We got away with it last week against Charlton when the ref decided to miss a red card and a penalty against MVE.
Every week the referee is accused of bias and gives decisions against us - we’ve lost only 2!
So in relation to handball, it’s only deemed a red if it prevents a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity.1. Yes it should have been a 2nd yellow based only on consistency. Ipswich fans are saying he didn’t hear the whistle over the crowd but he clearly pulled up before kicking it away.
2. Yes we (probably) would have won if there was a red card.
3. I can’t be bothered looking up the wording of “deliberate” handball but possibly a red missed there as well.
4. No complaints about the loss. Once there was no red we had lots of time to regroup but were outplayed although the final result was flattering to Ipswich.
I don’t want games to be decided by red cards for either of those “minor” offences but rules are rules and the ref had a stinker (again)
Rules says deliberate handball is a red card offence! It doesn't say if you think it is!I don’t like to blame ref’s but thought some of the decisions today were poor, Hurst not getting a second yellow for the same offence as Eccles was unbelievable and it didn’t look like a free kick against EMC in the lead up to the first goal, I could be wrong as I didn’t see it back.
I also didn’t see if the keeper handling outside the box would’ve prevented an obvious goal scoring opportunity, but given where the free kick ended up taking place I am assuming not, so a yellow is right. Unless anyone has a still of the hand ball?
