Good guess. The correct answer is Hoffman's backers. All the others exist.

What was it you were saying about conspiracy theories. Or does that only count when people are carrying out guesswork about SISU.

OK. There are two possibilities:

1. Hoffman has backers who want to take over Coventry City
2. Hoffman doesn't have backers who want to take over Coventry City

He should tell us which it is. We have waited 12 months. How much longer do we wait for him to come to our rescue. If he has backers and takes us over, I will happily state "I was wrong", until then it is all guesswork as the man himself has been pretty quiet hasn't he?

3) Hoffman has people interested in taking over city. They are looking at it all. They are taking more time to consider it all after the relegation. Which happened a couple of months ago.
Which is a pretty significant thing. Hoffman does not call the shots they do.
He said if they say no he will tell us. If they say yes he will tell us. Other than that he said he gets criticized when he speaks. Hence this is his version of put up or shut up.

Do you want hint to go to those people and say make you decision now or or or ....... Oh yes he can't we need them more than they need us.

It is their call he can't dictate he will let us know if they say yes or forget it. What is the problem with that.

Hypothetically speaking....."Words used by some posters on here".....Why would/should Hoffman and investors "Buy out SISU" when ST sales have reached the dizzy heights of 5,000+ yet not see a penny of the sales when they've already been mortgaged by SISU. Hypothetically speaking of course.:thinking about:

All this talk of Hoffman where are you etc is a bit silly now.

Hoffman has never said he is making a bid right now so don't expect one.

Unfortunately, many fans are clutching at straws and looking for some kind of hope. Sisu are deluded and now many fans have become deluded.

Who are the "by all accounts"? people?

You are useful as a weathervane though, if take the opposite view of youreself, then a pretty decent chance of being right.

Could you please list who you will think will win the next tranche of Euro games?

Could be a bit of money to be made there, so before 1700 would be great thanks.

I have said in other posts I think Hoffman has worked his ass off to try and get investment and it is through no lack of effort on his part that it has so far failed.

I just wish he would stop pretending he has serious backers when he clearly doesn't

Fiddling whilst Rome burns??!? Yeah, I mean, why shouldn't he magic up a millionaire investor who wants to throw it all away on a business that loses 500k per month (allegedly)! I mean it's easy, isn't it?!? Any of us could just go out and magic us up a takeover tomorrow, right? And even worse is the way he's always in the media, talking about it and getting peoples hopes up! That big interview with him last week...oh, sorry, must have been the week before...no, my mistake, it was LAST YEAR! Tsk, what a shameless self publicist!!!! A proper Emperor Nero he is!!!

Yeah so sarcasm is the lowest form of wit: my contempt for those holding Hoffman so unjustifiably in low regard is such that I'm trying to drag myself down to your level. The OP gets 10 billion "don't likes" from me as it's possibly the most deluded thing I've read on here since TIMS last posted.

lets be honest here,we are a league one side now! 3rd tier, would you buy fresh air from sisu, cos thats all they have basically.no ground, the squad is no better than a park team now, more or less, lol. so what are we selling..fresh air.we have nothing to sell.and besides if i was going to buy a football team,i would look to the premier or championship, not 3rd tier.i might be wrong, but tbh,i've had enough of sisu, hoffman, acl, council.chinese investers and all the shit with the club.i want a team thats going to compete in this league and hopefully go back to the championship, but thats requires something that no one wants to do,and put money where there mouth is.

when sisu have flogged everything that holds a price, which isn't much now,we will be left with basically a park team playing football in the ricoh.

As ever Sylus, potential-we're crap now, we might not always be. With a teensy weensy bit of investment last season, we'd have stayed up. And I'm sure there is a case to be spun that we are the "next Norwich or Southampton", that the relegation can be a "springboard for the regeneration of the club" (ahem). Most of the potential is off the pitch, perhaps, in terms of what could be done with the complex as a whole.

To make that potential grow, you have to invest: just twiddling fingers, cutting costs and hoping for a miracle like SISU have doesn't work (this we know). But what are they gonna do? They know nothing of football, their Strategy Man is long gone (and his dreams may have been built on sand). They don't want to invest: funds like them simply don't pump money in, as a rule. Their standard practise is to get something that's going cheap, and sell it on for a profit in as short a time as possible. Ideally in under a year, but they wouldn't normally want a business in their portfolio for more than 2-3 years at the most (you can't sell it and make a profit if you just keep it!).

The only reason SISU are still here is because they are stuck. They know they are just selling fresh air + potential, Sylus: Hoffman says that fresh air is worth £1: SISU say the fresh air + the potential = whatever they have "spent"/"lost"/"invested" since taking over us. Not a sellers market at the moment, yet SISU act as if they hold all the cards, rather than just the joker and the "Instructions For Bridge" card.. The one thing a firm like them doesn't like to do is admit defeat: they'll kill the club to get a few million if they think it's their only way to make money!

The sad thing is certain people would still pay through the nose to watch that, rather than taking their heads out of the sand and wake up to the reality of what's going on.

When you say "watch that" I am confused as ultimately that is all we have - that or no football, it's not paying through the nose either it's cheap - too cheap as a season ticket when we were in the championship.

If a miracle was to happen and sisu told the truth and said Your'e stuck with us for the next 5 years but were going to keep on asset stripping,no money for players, put up with fishers bullshit, thorn remains for the next 5 years and due to the restraints it will probably be 5 years of relegation battles and quite poasibly a drop in to league 2,would you still go up? Would you be prepared to put up with more years of misery under this horrible mob.?

It certainly was too cheap last year ,which begs the question why? When we needed maximum matchday income as they withdrew funds, the difference would surely have funded ALF and perhaps A.N.Other.

Short answer-no. If that makes me a Judas or not a proper fan, so be it. I feel more relaxed after a Saturday at work than I do one spent at The Ricoh these days.

Indeed, or to add to my other post even a change of manager as KD would have preferred,so they can hide behind the phrase," we made a mistake",or as our board consists of a pair of investment bankers as strategists we are where we are by design, old LABOVITCH never gets a mention does he?Wonder what he's doing here after working for the Mighty "Blair"

Like SISU, the Hoff is NOT spending his own money...and herein lies an issue for us.

Firstly, this slows the process of a takeover/decisions as the 'investors' need to be consulted on everything....and CCFC is not their only issue.

The other issue is that no matter who is in charge - Hoff or SISU - their intentions will be the same...to invest in CCFC, which means they are here for the money, not CCFC. If making CCFC stronger makes money then they will spend on the club, otherwise, it is the investment potential (the Ricoh and adjoining land) which is of interest to them.

Quite frankly, I am unconvinced whether the Hoff would bring investors to the table who are more pro-CCFC than SISU, but I'm willing to give them a chance as I have absolutely NO faith in SISU.

Therefore, give the Hoff some slack as selling CCFC is not an easy task...made even harder by our relegation.

I've said the same, LBB. Hoff's backers - if indeed there are any - will want their pound of flesh just as much as SISU do. If Hoff had all the money himself then we wouldn't be having this conversation, but unfortunately he doesn't. It's been a year, he should let us know what is happening.

So you think this is all a publicity stunt too do you? I know where's there's doom and gloom to be had you're all over it but this is far-fetched even for you!

Anyway, shouldn't I be asking you for Euro predictions? Seeing as you knew SISU's investment plan would change before even they did. If only my Rayray had consulted you he needn't have wasted his time.

He didn't waste his time did he?

Walked off into the sunset with a suitcase full of cash and the club in meltdown financially, and some people still suck him off.

If there is one reason, and one reason only to be suspicious of any bid(if there is of course) from Hoffman, it's that Ranson is apparently associated with him.
