There was no point in your waffle was there? What relevance was any of your post to the OP anyway? It's about local media manipulation.

Please point out any relevance your post had to the topic of the thread.

Your diverting the subject Tony, not me.

And no I'm not free for dinner Friday

if you want to read about press manipulation, don't bother with the waffling Grendel, I recommend Noam Chomsky for that subject.

So we are all happy now? The spurious lies of the CT and the knee jerk reaction of all those who fell for it was wasted...... Lol.

it was expected to be cleared up latest after Easter..... The "council Telegraph" even admitted that Pressley had agreed a settlement based on the notes from the meeting - seen only during Easter. So 36 sides started by Grendel during which he insulted the CT, accused people of being council workers, liars and Wasps fans whilst taking us on a deflection tour even as far as the summit of Mount Everest........ Plus a few dramatic clashes between other posters on the way... Can't wait til something important happens ;-)

Did the announcement regarding Pressley take up the same room as the original "news" item?

Are you seriously saying their only source for any information is the SCG!

Are you saying that there was no items added on the website from Thursday to Tuesday?

Deflection tour? I never deviated from the initial topic.

Why should I? I was proved right as usual.

really?

"Have We Been Closed Down Then?
Or was it more spurious bullshit by the Council Evening Telegraph regarding Mr Pressley?"

that was what you said/ claimed at the beginning - and you were proved wrong as the CT had not lied and had used words such as "threatens" or "theoretically". You then commenced your insults and went on a deflection tour ( and are still on it ).

the source from a meeting with an agreed minutes seems to be the most reliable. There are probably others, but not necessarily as reliable.

The first story of the agreement came as a footnote on another story and has been followed up by a larger report as posted by Simon.

Do you want another even larger version of a story about an agreement of which we don't know the details ( and it doesn't matter that we don't know the exact deal )?

So, no you were certainly not right about the story, the council worker, the liar and the Wasps' fan. So, as another poster has already said, you have been proved to be a right "knob".

Did the original news come from an SCG meeting?

Would it have appeared online if people weren't bitching on here?

It isn't really proven wrong, it was hidden away in the paper where nobody could see and then appeared days later online.

Which was not how Grendel Phrased it. He said something provokative to gain our attention - exactly the same as a newspaper trying to sell papers. But he lied. The CT didn't.

Turns out it was bullshit though? There was never a chance we would be wound up from it.

May as well start writing articles about us being in Europe in a couple of seasons after we win the FA cup.

Theoretically there was and if we were on a good Cup run we would also speculate ( how often did people mention the playoffs this season? ). Having to publish a non story at the end Must have been embarassing...

Ah OK, I await the articles about Chelsea and Arsenal being relegated next season or me playing for England. Theoretically possible of course.

It must be embarrassing reporting the actual news as it is, I agree.

If I issue a winding up order against a company that owes me money, and the Telegraph reports on it in the same way, and then the Company subsequently pays up... was the report BS, or a factual representation of what could happen?

Of course it was never going to result in being wound up, but if the threat was there was it wrong to report on it?

We have so much other information these days about everything the club or it's owners get up to, why not that?

And yes, papers sometimes exaggerate headlines.. shock horror...

Did he actually issue a winding up order then?

The point is, it was quite clearly to scare wasn't it?

I think Simon has said before they don't write the headlines (as in Simon when he does an article) so whoever does should stop being a dingbat. Unless they have some random bet going on to get the silliest headline for each article.

"COVENTRY MAN DIAGNOSED WITH DEADLY RARE BRAIN DISEASE"

A man has gone to the doctors with a headache, it could possibly be a deadly rare brain disease but it is actually just a headache. It could have been a brain disease though.

It would have been counted as a football debt. And if SISU would have refused to pay up under FL rules we could have lost the golden share. Also SISU have said that our club is now self sufficient and they have not put any money in for at least two years. We don't know much about the finances these days but are you saying that we are 100% safe?

I would say that nobody thought it would happen. But there will always be a slight risk there.

Is that the CET headline or SP saying he would take it to court if SISU never paid him? SISU must have taken him seriously as they paid him.

The sub headline had about the club being wound up.

OR they were going to pay him but just had to sort it out and the deadline hadn't passed anyway?

What was the sub heading just underneath on the website?

Obviously it isn't front page news when an agreement is done, but obviously the point is being missed or dodged

I am glad you agree, it was a non story wasn't it as the "deadline" hadn't even passed. We weren't going to be wound up.

Didn't Pressley's solicitors issue the club with a statutory demand? Have a look on the government's own website (presumably you're not accusing them of hyperbole too?):

https://www.gov.uk/statutory-demands/overview

What does it list as consequences of this route at the bottom? Surely the paper are within their rights to report this?

The deadline had passed. It was in the contract that it would be sorted within a week. Or are you saying that SP issued the threat for a laugh?

I am talking about this one:

Pressley’s lawyers served the club with a statutory notice on March 10, demanding payment within 21 days.

And as you know I was pointing out what was in the contract. They didn't pay up. They sacked him about 2 weeks before he took the legal route. So he then gave them another 3 weeks. And what date was the payment made?

Who knows, who knows if a payment has been made. All we know is that there is an agreement and it is settled.

Maybe we need to wait for the next SCG meeting to find anything out in between Wasps PR assaults

Perhaps they had paid it into an escrow account, as long as payment goes out of one account, regardless of whether the person owed receives it Nick is happyit has been paid.
