Harvey Elliot and Curtis Jones (2 Viewers)

I can't see the Curtis Jones one, villa are reportedly after him. Elliot has potential, he was loaned to villa with an obligation to buy, but he's only made 11 appearances this season so doubt he has met the criteria.

Wasn’t the Villa deal for Elliot £35m and that’s why they’re not playing him?

No chance on Jones, both might be out of our range realistically but if we could tempt Elliott he's is a great shout.

Bags of potential and a bit of baggage is about as good as we can hope for when shopping in the UK

I dont see either of these but one Liverpool player, I would try for, I'll get laughed out of this thread for, and moreso as he doesn't fit our recruitment model. Anyhow, tin hat on, here goes ...

Andy Robertson. Free transfer, will have lots of options but if you could buy that quality and PL experience for £5m you would, so why not offer it to him? Lampard is a draw, could offer a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option, £50k per week, £1m signing on fee plus £2m if we stay up year 1 and another £1m to stay up year 2. That's £9m over 2 years, but only if we're successful and wr get another £100m+ each season.

Clear upgrade in an area we need it, winning experience and would add so much to the group.

I'm sure others would be in the mix, but that would be the kind of signing and structure I'd like to think we're looking at as an example. Not too much churn, not silly prices and help the group.

He would be a fantastic buy, don't understand why the bin dippers are not playing him every game

He would be brilliant but he will have better offers. You never know though, the Lampard factor is a draw.

My barber, who is a former amateur footballer and avid Liverpool fan, tells me that Robertson's 'legs have gone'.

He looked way off the pace in the game I watched a few weeks ago.

I love your optimism on our attractiveness to players! You aren't wrong, Robertson would be the ideal recruit, and at those figures would be a no brainer.

Problem is there are probably 16 odd other Prem teams who would take him on at that price, or higher. Then he's bound to get interest from MLS and Saudi for ridiculous wages and massive signing on fees. We won't be able to compete in afraid.

The draw of Lampard isn't that strong, might help with the likes of Rudi but I very much doubt Andy was tucked up in his Glasgow bed wearing Chelsea PJs for reading Frankie's Magic Football as a kid!

I'm sure we will look to bring in some experience from somewhere, just might have to adjust expectations.

There are a few experienced defenders out of contract this June, Veltman at Brighton, Schär at Newcastle, Ben Davies at Spurs. Not saying any of them are realistic but all would give us that grit and experience that we have lacked a bit since Fadz left.
