Yeah I’d loan Tav out but even if not he’s still recovering from and ACL. I’d want two strikers on the bench with 9 subs TBH. It’s one of the most likely positions to switch up in a game.

I just can’t see us having fewer defenders than last season.

Not disrespecting Moore, just saying how I see it. I don’t think he’ll play for us again.

I’ll accept LWB is very much a maybe.

It’s Tavares Achilles tendon, not an ACL.

He’s had very little 1st team minutes, but has still scored a worldly in that time. For me, he has a spark, and looks dangerous but obviously raw. I’m hoping he’ll be involved next season and not loaned out.

I must admit I seem inexplicably to have missed all those matches he has played that have enabled some people to judge he is not good enough. Like you on the little I have seen he seems to have something. But hey it seems to be the same scenario as BNC and JWE for some people where they are written off immediately.

Having said all that, like with O'Hare, I suspect we won't see much of him before the new year due to his injury.

Wouldn’t claim to be ITK, and can’t verify the authenticity of this info other than that I’ve seen the picture and know he was definitely there, but Gus was at a family friends place of work the other week and was allegedly telling people he’s keen to stay but also has an offer on the the table from Leicester. This would have been a couple of days before they flew to Portugal.

I dont doubt it. Hes a player in much demand. It seems everyone wants him. Why wouldnt anyone want the Best midfielder in the championship by a million miles. And £16M is peanuts.

I wonder if Robins realises we need some CBs?!

Hopefully he reads this forum and starts looking for some first thing Monday morning

I've just done a quick head count and i think we need 6 as an absolute minimum

GK Wilson Moore

RWB New signing, cover Burroughs, Latibeaudiere?, Eccles

CB Mcfadz, New signing (Latibeaudiere? ) New signing (Mcnally?) New signing (permanent) New signing (Doyle type loan?)

LWB Bidwell Da Silva

CM Kelly, Sheaf, Eccles Hamer

AM Tatsu, Palmer, Allen, O'Hare

ST Simms Godden New signing

As a minimum we need rwb, 4 cbs(not counting Latibeaudiere as signed, so three plus him if it's a done deal) and a striker.

Then you are looking at replacing players such as Moore and Bidwell if they leave.

And really we need to be upgrading players like Godden, Allen, Palmer, Kelly if we want to be challenging for the play offs on a regular basis.

I have to say I’m really concerned about the lack of transfer activity from the club over the close season. I totally understand that we have to get the right players if available but we are coming into the pre season games with one centre half with the club and the season approximately 4 weeks away.

Felt for a while something doesn’t feel right behind the scenes. Probably looked into it too much and the signings will happen next week but we’re leaving it very late with a threadbare first team.

Hate to break it to you, but the season is in 3 weeks. No need to panic just yet, will be a busy week.

We came up from L2 to the Championship with team spirit that didn't involve Gus. We all know he's a great player, but he won't be here in 5 years time, all teams change players and new heroes emerge. As a football club we are heading in the right direction, and that is the most important thing. We'll just need to get used to the words of some new songs (fwiw, i hope we get another season of 'he's Brazilian')

This should be posted in every drama thread about a player leaving.

Also when people convince themselves a player would be mad to leave the incredible institution of CCFC for triple their wages, “don’t confuse their love of the club with yours”

I think Godden, Allen and Kelly are all more than adequate to play a role in the season, and certainly adds strength to the bench.

Palmer? One of the most technical players we own.

If Palmer can put a string of games together and play to his potential what an asset we have he’s potentially lethal when driving through midfield.

If Tavares goes on loan to L2 and scores even a handful of goals then the clamour for him to get back in our squad will be ridiculous - his fans would lie down in the road outside Ryton a la Just Stop Oil to stop him leaving.

oh he said we needed to keep biamou and get rid of Gyokeres and preferred Kelly to hamer - I’ve linked these posts numerous times and he denies it

In fact he spends more times searching my posts as attending live games. To be fair he’d only have to search three a season to achieve that

I literally never said those things and I didn't search for this post, someone posted the thread and sure as night follows day there was an embarrassing post by you on there.

Where do you think we'd have finished if we'd have got rid of Hamer as you were so desperate to do?

Never got the hatred of Max - he was part of our revival iirc, and not part of the downward spiral.

He was a good striker for the level that we were. If he was shit as people like to say we wouldn't have got promoted twice with him.
