28 years and 9 months to be accurate. The point was he was being compared to Vik 3 years ago and he's nearly 26 now.
He wasn't bought as a winger he was bought as a relatively pricey striker.

Ask MR what he bought him for? He’s doing pretty well on the goals scored column. Godden is the man who seems invisible at the moment. But he’ll come good as well.

Semantics

He's playing out wide. You don't score 20+ goals from there unless you are playing for a dominant team.

Took his first superbly , great header for Simms, which I’m pretty sure without watching a replay was going in anyway for the second?

The header he missed after with just the keeper to beat was shockingly awful and then the cross which he blasted high and about 30 yards longer than it needed to was Sunday league at best.

An absolute mixed bag, if nothing else , atleast hes fucking entertaining to watch

Blatantly his goal in all but official stats for the second today. Given to him on the scoreboard and Simms didn’t even celebrate. Got to feel for Simms really, won’t feel like that’s his, Sakas worldie the other night was a foot from landing on his bonce for a tap in as well. He’s been very close a lot.

Stolen a Haji goal and Sakamoto assist which is a shame but you've got to follow them in. Be getting stuck if he doesn't and it goes wide.

Feeling vindicated for backing Haji throughout the awful abuse he received online and at matches.

Really starting to show how good he is now and there is still more to come. Seems like a good guy too.

Which equates to 5 goals a season. At least when Wright was missing he was missing 2 good chances a game rather than a month. If Simms is gonna be a carthorse doing the donkey work up front, while all the others score the goals, fair enough, he'll get there. Still a bit of a donkey, but better than some of the shit in the league.

The amount of times the woman behind me and those around have said “he’s shit” “take him off” “send him back” there is defo abuse his way. When questioned on it, they just double down. However, the same people also slated vic too. I guess people are entitled to their opinions, no matter how wrong they are.

Crowd as a whole is very supportive generally though. Always singing a players name after a miss and rarely getting on the teams back.

The crowd overall though got behind him even after some really glaring misses. Always sang his name no matter how poorly he might have played.

Need to do the same with Simms really

It’s literally cos he’s got a simple song that’s fun to sing and Simms hasn’t.

Yeah, and that was much needed. I recall even ribbons clapping the fans after a wright miss. May have been wba or Huddersfield. Can’t recall. I do rate him, and he will come good. Thought that against Leicester when he put Doyle on his arse and almost scored on debut.

Wright on course for about 15 goals and 10 assists in his first season. Not bad. Will be even better the season after. On course to be a decent asset for us.

Perhaps not blatant abuse but there was lots of ridiculous groaning, discontent and moronic shouts that went beyond anything other players were receiving. A lot of unwarranted vitriol.

I heard lots of it in the stands, after games etc so can't have been the only one.

You obviously don't sit near me. I heard some of the most vile abuse aimed at Wright i have ever heard. A group who booed every time he got the ball and shouted Hagi Wrong Wrong Wrong even after he scored the only goal of the match.

Never heard any in B20 or at away games. If it’s happened in other parts of the ground clearly it’s inexcusable

Last 2 goals show he is very clear in mind about when he makes that decision. He looks comfortable and positive once he does that and didn't look like missing both them chances

He needs to improve his runs onto back post and once there show the same commitment to his decision. He looks sometimes like he gets caught is in 2 minds. But he is definitely improving and is a handful that i think hasn't shown us all yet.

Next season he’ll be even better and score 20+, IMO. It’s always been obvious there’s a player there - he’s finally got that swagger.

Wright was still getting a lot of stick around me which is absolutely ridiculous. One bloke behind me was stood up furiously hurtling abuse at him after they scored the equaliser. I have a work mate who is a Swans fan and was in the away end, the consensus up there was that he was the best player on the pitch by miles, they were terrified of him every time he had space to turn. Apparently their RB Darling was getting most of their stick because he was being constantly beaten and wouldn’t get close to Haji.

Thought that last night the way he took a touch on his right foot to get space then lashed it home with his left. Lovely stuff.

Needs to back himself more often, a few times he broke with the ball then hesitated and tried to lay it off. Really well taken goal that first one.

I agree but confidence breeds confidence and it's a great start. Anyone know his natural foot?

I wondered this recently, pretty sure it’s his right but the fact he’s more than comfortable using both is great for a forward.
I wondered last night whether he was teasing the defender into thinking he’s always going on his left and then maybe cut in on his right, as Boxing Day and the game before he was always cutting in, rather than going outside.

good intelligence I suppose in that the defenders don’t know what they’re getting each game.

When someone says ‘I’ve got a friend that supports X that said’ it always compares me of when a red top tabloid says ‘an insider source said’.

Anyone that has played the game to any level will tell you Palmer was the best player on the pitch. He linked the midfield to attack and was constantly forcing dangerous positions.

Wright took his goals well mind.

Funny you say that, when someone pushes the “Anyone that’s played the game to any level” line, it’s a sure indication that they’ve never kicked a ball in their life.

Yeah, I assume it's his right which makes the strike for his goal even better in my opinion. Very calm.

He's always going to be an enigma. He's clearly very talented; quick, two-footed, decent leap, but then he does some mad things that make you think he's a Sunday league player! Brilliant leaping header for our second, then does this from a standing position in the 90th minute.
