Wright is getting better game by game, I think he won every header tonight. He was definitely our MOTM.

Must admit I have liked him from the start and think he is a good player. But what has impressed me the most is how much he has learned and adapted to how we play. You could tell he was being expected to do things he had not previously done but he has shown a great attitude in changing his approach. Great signing in my view.

MOTM tonight. Hold/link up play was good, looked dangerous and did defensive work to boot.

Also the first time he's scored one that had a bit more to it, beat the man then finished nicely. Looked confident celebrating too.

I noticed he is also tracking back and offering a bit of cover down the left, ok hes not the best at closing his man but its a start and we are starting to see what Robins expects from every player on the pitch. I think he could be quite dangerous if he picks the ball up deep and breaks down the wing, he has the pace and the strength when he wants to use it

He certainly gives the opposition something to think about especially with the pace of Sakamoto and McV the other side starting to look the part.

No doubt about it, he gets in really good positions and gets good chances every game and in some cases i think he has been unlucky not to have scored more. Other times he just has lost composure and snapped at chances which has created more pressure on himself as time has gone on. But he keeps getting into them positions which is a good sign

He still has way more room for improvement he needs to shape his runs and time them better. He needs to improve his distribution and although he has improved his hold up play needs to be more consistent in using his body better.

I like what i see though and i think he enjoyed that goal last night more than the others. Why, i think he has worked hard to get it all to click. He showed all what you need to score often last night in the way he took his goal. He showed directness, clear thought, composure and confidence of the outcome. That is a massive change and its great to see big test is next chance that comes his way to see if can can replicate it.

As happy as I am to see him doing well, starting to worry he's got a slowly degrading picture of Ben Sheaf in his loft

Yes, some people could see his potential from the start. Wasn't he called a donkey by one or two posters? I suppose not everyone has the footballing knowledge and ability to see beyond the surface.

Did hear some fans on the way out still criticising him afterwards, particularly for the offside run in injury time. That was disappointing but Christ what are some of us expecting from our players.
The coaching is starting to show which is something Robins alluded to in his interview.

Got a fair few wallies near us, waiting for every failure. They were baying for him to press the Soton defence when he'd clearly been told not to and cover the left hand side of the pitch. Something Sakamoto was doing exactly the same on the right and got praise for "good positioning" when he cut out a ball into midfield.

Unfortunately Wright has some staunch detractors.

It's such a shame that they can't be magnanimous and admit they've made a mistake. He really does look like a player that needs to be valued and loved in my opinion

Always liked HW and thought he would come good. I think the issue with a lot of what's said about him is that he appears to be a laid back type of person or player and not as vocal as he should be. He gets judged against players like Tats who never stop running which is a different type of player. I think in the second half of the season we will see him grow and grow, players are also now getting used to how each other like to receive a ball which shows that partnerships all over the pitch are starting to come to fruition. Robins said it was a process and once again he's proving himself right, too early to really make an impact in the league this season but with a settled team next year we will be flying.

Clearly people who have made their minds about him early doors. They’ll hop on the bandwagon when he bangs them in on the regular.

I couldn’t make the game last night but his goal was quality. Great team effort to win the ball, slide Wright in and his touch, feint and the finish was quality.

When he hits his groove, we’ll look back at this transfer and consider it a bargain.

It wasn't just his goal that was impressive. He played well all match against a really good played in Walker-Peters.

Remember this is the same forum that overwhelmingly wanted to give Biamou a contract.

Unfortunately I wasn’t at the game but I’ve rooting for Wright so I’m happy he got MOTM. I feel like Simms too will have a purple patch once he hits some form - he’s admitted to snatching at chances lately.

He certainly is, it's difficult to get out of that tunnel vision when your confidence is low, that's why he needs a run of games.

Agreed and at this stage, he offers more than Godden in open play. Against Blues, he was outlet and his link play was good.

He just needs to find his feet and again, I think we’ll have a really good player on our hands. There’s a reason half the league wanted him this summer.

Haji Wright looked a much better player last night. At last his work rate has improved and his positional sense and confidence is getting to where it should be. You have to give credit to our manager and his team again as they have a habit of improving almost all players that come their way.

I think this is the biggest endorsement for continuing to sing for and support a player going through some lean times. You can see the new level of confidence he has in the way he was running with the ball, like he believes he can do something with it rather than hoping. And more often than not it's starting to come off.

Largely because Robins finally changed formation and started playing our best players, notably Kitching, Bidwell and Sakamoto.
Credit to Wright though, some good improvement but let's not get carried away, plenty to improve on.

A donkey who has no place being a professional footballer, as I recall.

Seems to be doing ok.
