Doesn't matter. The fact that Wright played really well and scored the winner, justifies his start ahead of Simms.
He scored, fair play. I don't think he played "really well". The thread is shite by the way, same as the Simms thread was.

And so therefore Simms scoring and playing really well and then being dropped had no justification...

You see I don't see it as dropped. It's a word used an awful lot on here and it makes no allowance for any little knocks or injuries players may be carrying, or indeed, illness that they may have.

To my mind, Haji is clearly the better player. I like Simms, don't get me wrong and I don't slate the guy, but our number one striker is Wright.

Maybe Simms was dropped. If so, I can only assume it's because Wright has been really impressive in training.

We will never know.

It's no coincidence that this run coincides with us playing a bit more on the counter, soaking up more pressure and Rudoni coming into form in a more central & advanced role.

I think confidence and application plays a part too - it's been great to see him the last few games really scrapping with defenders and using his physicality. I think it's easy to say he doesn't care or is lazy, but I do think the way he approaches specific games or moments can be improved.

Ultimately he's a terrific striker for us and has the potential to be even more.

I like Wright and this is by no means me calling him shite

But the fact that the Golden Boot is now probably out of question combined with the Agyemang news yesterday all but securing his place on the plane to the World Cup in the summer means I can't see him really busting a gut in the games we have left

I don't think it's fair on him to claim he only scores goals to win the golden boot or get called up by the US.

He couldn't bust out a fart based on last nights performance.

I think hes still struggling to find his way out of John Egan's pocket.

He has the once in a lifetime opportunity to play in a home World Cup on the horizon, it is only natural to go into self-preservation mode - It is not a criticism, I get it

You’re basing this on one performance against a team set up to stifle us after a few weeks off injured?

Not seen any highlights back yet. The two balls Dasilva crossed in the first half, looked to me as if he should have gambled ahead of the defender and got a connection, they looked perfect from where I was, but as I say it was far end. Other than that, we didn't really offer him much. He stretches the play more than Ellis with his movement, but my main criticism with both of them is that for a couple of big lads they could use their muscle more.

I think Haji can score in the Prem though as he's unplayable when he's really on it, Ellis gets goals, but everything just looks a bit languid. I think with ages now though, we should be seeing more consistency than being streaky players so I don't see that changing and as well as they've done, I'd like to see an alternative option. I hoped it was going to be Bassette, but he turned out to be dogshit.

I am basing it off the theory of why would he knacker himself out or risk injuring himself when he is pretty much assured of a spot at the World Cup taking place in his home country now Agyemang is injured

Do you not think Harry Kane will be doing the same for England once Bayern Munich have sealed the Bundesliga title?

I think the idea he doesnt try is crazy to me , thats fans interpretation only

Continues to frustrate. Looked a totally different player against Boro bullying the defence but far too often looks isolated, a bit lazy and too slow to react. Torp pairing didn’t work, had a good spell earlier in the season when paired with BTA but that feels a long time ago. Still feel he is better drifting in from the left and paired with a true centre forward but EMC is still developing and adds much needed defensive cover for JDS. £15m+ and I’m a seller…

He’s second top scorer in the division?

Would have liked to see Rudi a bit earlier and Ellis a bit later. Rather than the two together, I think Rudi could have perhaps found Haji's movement a bit more and would like to have seen them on together for a bit.

I felt he didnt anticipate the 2 crosses all too well , but aside from that what did he really have to work with ?

He was up against 2 absolute units in egan and ajayi and was smothered the minute he recieved the ball , same as EMC .. they did a great job stopping our threats

That is not what I have said, I have been one of Wright's staunchest defenders, even when everyone wanted him punted out of the club after the two legs against Sunderland last season

But with our job pretty much done and the personal accolade of a golden boot off the cards now, I think it is only natural he will go into self preservation mode for the summer

With the chances we create he should be pissing it.Both JDS balls in last night were absolutely screaming to be put away but he was way off the pace the first one a little unlucky because he checked then didn't make it,but the second just stretch for it ffs.
