Doesn't matter. The fact that Wright played really well and scored the winner, justifies his start ahead of Simms.
He scored, fair play. I don't think he played "really well". The thread is shite by the way, same as the Simms thread was.

And so therefore Simms scoring and playing really well and then being dropped had no justification...

You see I don't see it as dropped. It's a word used an awful lot on here and it makes no allowance for any little knocks or injuries players may be carrying, or indeed, illness that they may have.

To my mind, Haji is clearly the better player. I like Simms, don't get me wrong and I don't slate the guy, but our number one striker is Wright.

Maybe Simms was dropped. If so, I can only assume it's because Wright has been really impressive in training.

We will never know.

It's no coincidence that this run coincides with us playing a bit more on the counter, soaking up more pressure and Rudoni coming into form in a more central & advanced role.

I think confidence and application plays a part too - it's been great to see him the last few games really scrapping with defenders and using his physicality. I think it's easy to say he doesn't care or is lazy, but I do think the way he approaches specific games or moments can be improved.

Ultimately he's a terrific striker for us and has the potential to be even more.
