Thought after his USA goals he would have stepped up. But its fine he's not far away. We can afford to carry him at the moment, but Simms has got to be scratching his head. As whenever gets game time he performs.

What a stupid, stupid thread . Haji isn't a 7 out of 10 player every game , he is an enigmatic player who will at times play like he's a level above but at other times not play to the high levels he should .
He was very frustrating today but name me a better forward in the Championship?
Saw one whopper on the match thread today suggested selling him and signing Bamford

He’s scored more than all bar two players in the division.

If Hadji consistently played at the level we know he can then he would be playing in the Prem.

Rumours are true and he might be playing there playing how he is.

Incredibly silly given his goal scoring record this season, but looking beyond that I do think it’s time Simms got the nod from the start in the next game.

Simms xG per 90 is best in the league, his recent sub appearances have all been positive and he has offered more in those short spells than Wright had in the larger part of the games. Simms also just looks bang up for it whereas with Wright I sometimes get the feeling he is holding back for fear of getting injured and missing out on the World Cup. If that’s the case the best thing we can do is put him on the bench and make it clear that unless he ups both his work rate and his output back to the levels he was showing earlier in the season he isn’t going to be picked for club or country. If it’s a choice between Wright not scoring and Simms not scoring, I’d pick Simms for his wider role in the team, as we saw against Stoke. Wright isn’t even contesting that flick-on never mind winning it.

Thing is, this is just what you’re going to get with Wright. He blows both hotter and colder than most forwards in this division and that’s super frustrating and I was one of those calling for him to be sold in the summer, but I think you’d be mad to do that now in January - even if we did bring in another forward.

There was a bloke a couple of rows back today just abusing Wright from the start of the game to the second he went off. Calling him "lazy", "useless", "c**t", etc.

Top of the league, Wright second leading goalscorer and still he gets abuse from his own fans. I despair.

Would you call the effort he just put in acceptable though . He genuinely seemed uninterested & was so off the pace of the game .
We all know what he can do ……& want him to do , but Simms should have been brought on a lot earlier today .

He didn't have a great game, no denying. But you're using one of the same old Haji tropes, "not interested". He's had games like that before and then will score.

He wasn't "genuinely not interested". That's your opinion, not a fact.

I'll just leave this here: nine goals in league and cup.

Lets break this down because facts normally outweigh emotional opinion .

Ellis flicked on the ball from the throw , thats good thats his job he also won 3 of 4 aerial duels .

However

He completed 14% of his passes 1 accurate from 7

He lost possesion 6 times

He came on in the 84th minute , hes hardly come on and played like R9

Only us lot could be top of the league with the most goals and still pick a boo boy.

Just enjoy it, players aren’t going to score or even play well every game.

Is he frustrating? Yes.
Is he mercurial? Definitely
Does he occupy centre-backs who are shit scared of him? 100%
Does he make space for others? Of course
Does he score goals? You bet

If he was shite, we wouldn't be top of the league and Frankie wouldn't pick him. Fairly straightforward tbh.

Maybe just needs a rest or carrying a slight injury-got battered on the ankle at the beginning of this game and that might have slowed him down.

Shame he won’t have a rest as he’ll be travelling to US.

As others have said he is not consistent bit against as others have said he occupies and dominates defenders (great decoy at set pieces ) and has scored a lot of goals already.

He will come good tho-it’s a World Cup year.
