I’d easily take £25m for Wright.

Going to West Ham now doesn’t make sense though, unless the contract is ridiculous. Good chance they go down and so many strikers fail there.

We are in a strong position with Haji, even if he does want a move, and judging by his last 2 games I would say he doesn't want to leave. However. he is still widely regarded as a talent, and our best player. We'd make a profit if he left in Jan or the summer. And we all know he will probably come good soon and start scoring goals.
If a club offered £12-15 million in January, and we had a striker (say £10 million) lined up. A CF. A proper CF, like Simms can sometimes be then I'd cash in.
What if we put in a cheeky £12 million bid for Josh Sergeant?
Sergeant has scored less goals than Haji this season and is currently injured.

He does have injury issues, but he's one hell of a player. Norwich will sell below the reported £20 million asking fee with their issues this season. I'd take Sergeant over Wright.
He is a very good player, but his stats this season don't really support that. Same with Haji which partly explains premier league interest.

As much as I like Haji, he fits the mould of a West Ham striker signing (Hugill, Scamacca, Zaza, Haller) in that they’d probably over pay us (25-30m), he’d score 2 goals in 40 games and in Jan 27 be sent on loan to Besiktas.

Considering Vik went for £17.5m (initially), any bid of +£25m and I imagine Doug will even throw in a 50th Anniversary Shirt (#1/1975) for free.

Haji is a good Championship striker, but he isn’t even close to Gyokeres’ and is wildly inconsistent.

It was a life changing amount of money for the club and set us on the course for where we are now. We also famously didn’t sell Vik in January - and we were a lot further away from the Prem than we are now.
£25million is still a massive amount for us but if we blow this and don’t go up we are looking at a major rebuild with Wright, MVE and Rudoni surely all leaving ( and Frank maybe)
Would give us an enormous mini parachute war chest but we have seen from this season how that sometimes goes…

Pochettino wouldn't! We'd be absolutely mad to move Haji on this side of a World Cup, his value could really sky rocket if he does well there and we wouldn't be able to afford to keep him anyway. Even if he doesn't get a game he's become an international regular while with us...

Article in The Guardian about West Ham saying they are looking to strengthen as they might lose Fullkring in Jan.
Mentioned Sargent as someone they were tracking but not progressed any further than that. No mention of Wtight ( or Simms)
Source is Jacob Steinberg who writes almost exclusively about West Ham and is well plugged in there usually.

Sargent is a great player and I think our coaching staff would improve his output.
However, he has Sheaf levels of injury problems. Can see the meltdown on here every time he was out with a niggle.
He is on big wages at Norwich and did not excel in the Prem. Our wage structure in the Championship does not change if we sell for big money or you are in danger of upsetting the existing staff. We played hardball with Dovin regarding wages, and I suspect the same will be true of Manneh, if we indeed do buy him.

I think Haji is just preparing himself for the World Cup shop window.
