So I reckon we should sell Hamer and go and get Will Vaulks, just released by Cardiff.

You may take him away from Cov, but you can never take the Cov out of him

I do hope he goes up another gear in his game but I’m personally worried it could go the other way in that we keep him and the goals dry up and his value goes down and we could have a one season wonder on our hands in that the opposition have caught onto his game and know how to mark him

I think he is unmarkable, so strong and such a powerful runner.
He has been unplayable at times.
Can only see this boy getting better and better.
Let's hope it's in Sky Blue

One of the main things affecting how well a player does is the quality of the players around him, obvious, I know.
If a team can afford to put 3 players on him he won't score many, and nor would most players.
Loss of form is always a possibility for any player, but I don't get the comment about opposition players catching onto his game TBH.

Personally wouldnt sell him give it a go this season. Unless he actually wants out or has had his head turned.

How is a big salary hike and a club with an owner backing a promotion push a backward step?

Why?

If you had a choice of either staying at your current place of employment on a below average salary comparative to your ability, or move to a company that has exciting growth plans, wanted you to be a direct part of those plans, and were willing to pay you double what you were on at your current place of employment, which would you choose?

A. Its a shithole
B. No more guaranteed promotion than we are
C. He's made it clear he likes being number one and playing. Considering theyre after every striker under the sun that wont be the case
D. Doesnt strike me as the kind of guy after tripling his salary if it means he wont progress with Sweden or to the premier league

Add to that b) I think 9/10 neutral fans (not City or Boro) would say they are 'more likely' to get promoted than we are, and 50% of his points are already null and void. For context, Boro are 3rd favourites (11/4 with SkyBet) to get promoted. We are 11th (15/2).

Of course, this doesn't mean we won't get promoted and Boro will, but players have to weigh up options and chances, and if you were to ask me who I thought would be in the PL sooner, it would be Boro.

Surely you can't believe that? They have a manager with prior experience of achieving promotion out of the Championship, an owner who's fiercely ambitious and isn't shy about investing heavily into the playing budget and a decent squad to build upon this summer.

His international prospects will also only improve if he gets an opportunity to showcase his talent in the PL. The two are in tandem so I'd imagine his priorities will lie with the club that can offer him both.

Not really it's just basic common sense.

Our primary aspiration year on year is to slowly improve and build on the year before. Middlesbrough's is promotion.

It's bizarre that you can't see why that would make them a more attractive proposition.

Did anyone think Luton would make play offs?
Did anyone think stone bottom Forest at Christmas would go up?
Middlesbrough have a squad on paper way better than us and ended up only 6 points better off

I really don't think a championship club, apart from the recently relegated have that much of a better chance than us at all to get top 6

Momentum is massive in football, and we have it. Middlesbrough don't

Do we really have momentum? In the last 10 games of the season we were 19th in the form table. Hardly indicative of a team destined for the PL next season.

A key player is also likely to be sold this summer with no guarantees that their replacement is going to have a similar impact.

Forest were always a sleeping giant and just needed the right manager to make them click - they also invested heavily in January which as previously shown we lack the means to do.

We of course could follow in Luton's footsteps but will Gyokeres really pin his career hopes on a club that is consistently run on a shoestring potentially reaching the Play-Offs?

Noone has said that have they you melon they are just being objective and saying it would definitely be an attractive proposition (double the salary, arguably more likely to get promoted).

People can like CCFC, AND understand why a 24 year old could see a 100% salary increase and a move to another promotion contender as attractive….that’s okay you know. Relax
