I think the fact he was crowned the best player in the league trumps that. He's also paid those large sums to play football, not beat Usain Bolt. Some people carry weight differently.

Regardless of what they might still owe us we have already committed the money elsewhere - it's spent, gone, non-existent... We rebuilt the squad with the winnings.

Yeah some people are clearly quite bitter with the way he left still.

Im reading the Sheff U forum and despite them apparently thinking hes shit, they are disappointed if he does go.

I don't dispute it.
I just think the way he conducts himself doesn't fit in with what Lampard is trying to build.

If I'm wrong and we sign him then great, but I don't think we will.

If nothing else it will stop large sections of our support wanking over an opposition player when he takes a corner.

I was there at Stoke away at the end of 21/22 when he told supporters he'd be staying for 22/23 and he stuck to his word. So I didn't really have an issue with how he left.

I'm not sure we're interested unless Doug also holds a stake in Samoan Joes, but he's a fine player who managed the impressive feat of sometimes looking pretty good in a Sheffield United team that stunk up the top division so I wouldn't worry about how he'd fit into any future plans in that regard if the magic happens

It’s a fair point. Not sure he has Lampard levels of professionalism.

It's very much like people call Frank fat
I wish I was as fat as him or as unfit as Gus

Blunts stripes add a few extra pounds to Gus. Wilder playing on left hasn't helped him either. Would be a great addition for last 30mins of games in middle of park shooting early and taking free kicks. I dont think we will though as too expensive and probably destined for Europe.
Wrexham fans think they have a good chance of getting him due to Cov connections with Hyam, Doyle and Sheaf, but even they think hes been hitting the kebabs..

Regardless of whether we think he eats too many kebabs.

Surley he would be subject to a medical. If he passes that, happy days, if hes on the fringe, staff can work with him

Both cases they would have to keep an eye on him to make sure hes not down Binley Mega Chippy every night, so maybe thats a headache they dont want.

Frank could be doing a Alex Fergusson and driving past his house to make sure his light is turned off by 9pm!

I’ve just seen him outside Binley Mega Chippy with the away shirt on and a videographer. Reckon it’s been done already.

You really get to be on the top 10 PL scorers by being fat - he gets more absurd with his opinions every day

The whole fee will already be accounted for - I doubt there is £6m anyway but even if there is its assumed as paid and part of the accounts

People get weird about weight. You don’t see it with any other player of the season that people chip in with their opinion on how they should’ve even better.

He was also a much better player than Hamer. And played in a period when fitness, lifestyle and nutrition weren't a thing.

Which is the exact same phrase I said to the missus the other night, before then having to sleep on the sofa for two days

If Lampard seriously struggled with his weight he would have ballooned when his career finished like Rooney
