slightly off topic but the way we have got to where we are today from SISU, Slade etc. is really important. No gaming administration or FFP loopholes, no sugar day oligarch throwing money at it, just canny trading, improving players for value, cup runs, good attacking football, loyal support through thick and thin and now selling out the CBS. We'll have earnt promotion as a club and as a fanbase when we get there.

Surely if you have been watching over that time Dave Bennett & Darren Huckerby are ahead of Clarke McNulty & Kelly.

McAllister was garbage for the majority of his time here.

I must admit I wasn't that enamoured with him particularly at the start of his time with us.
Progressively got better as time went on.

Depends on the context. Clarke’s partnership with Wilson kept us out of a really bad situation in a year when we started off with minus points (only didn’t put Wilson in as we didn’t sign him). McNulty and Kelly the same. If those signings didn’t come off we would have been serious trouble. Without Huckerby for example we’d have just finished lower in the prem. less of an impact than going out of the league structure.

It could be argued the signing of Robbie Keane (or more to the point the reasons behind it) was one of the most disastrous signings the club has made.

I wouldn't class Keane as an important signing. Class player, but didn't even play a whole season for us! Hes not even near the top 50 of important players the club have signed

With his rather severe downturn in form, I was thinking back to that issue he seemed to have at Southampton where it looked like his boot got stuck in the turf. Since then I don’t think he’s looked anywhere near the same - now that may be coincidental but it almost tallies with our loss of form. Weird one.

You might have a point. It's hard to pinpoint the issue as he's having to do the job of about 3 other players, but he seems to have fallen off a cliff.

He is often left on his own in the middle of the park to play against 3, sometimes even 4 when they pack out the midfield. Not much he can do when we are leaving him so isolated.

Torp was poor v Norwich on the ball and his shooting has been off a bit
Grimes is still excellent he’s being overrun and pressured when on the ball and I think he’s not being as brave but he’s still excellent. I do wonder if he’s lost a bit of pace but think he’s just having to cover everywhere

Spot on Pete. If anyone looked at the amount of ground grimes covered/had to cover on Monday there would be no question on what he brings to the team, whether he’s on top form or not. Also put a couple of cracking long balls through.

Teams have found us out a bit, as you’d expect as season goes on and are targeting certain players (same with EMC). This should free up space elsewhere and it’s up to management and other players to take advantage of this.
