Greatest Comeback Victory (1 Viewer)

Didn’t we beat WBA 3-2 last season after being 2-0 down?

1981 League cup semi-final home leg v West Ham; 2-0 down with 20 minutes to go, won 3-2. One of the greatest ever nights at HR and a spine-tingling atmosphere. Pity about the offside last minute goal for them in the second leg
Where was var when you needed it.
No you take the medicine, get outside to the overturned cars etc, only second hand news.

Wasn't a victory, but coming back from 3-1 down at Pompey to draw 3-3 with 9 men was spectacular to witness. RIP my sunglasses.

I was at the West Ham League cup semi 2-0 down and win 3-2 was a great night.
However FA cup semi final against
Manchester United with being 3-0 down at 72 minutes and win 4-3, nothing can top that.

West Ham first leg 19881 - HR was something else that night. Big mention for Leeds Boxing Day, Huckerby was on a different level after an early Leeds goal. Chelsea opening day with very late goals from Dublin. Finally if not already mentioned- Man United home (Huckerby) and Wolves cup (Wright) - Wolves one of my favourite moments ever.

We had a league cup match against Forest - when we went 4-0 up. Got dragged back to 4-4 then we went on to win it 5-4.

I remember listening on the radio as a kid. Crazy match!

TSx

Exactly the same here - listened to it at the time in my bedroom with one of my younger bros who was a Forest fan & still is to this day (rubbed it in again almost 35 years later when we beat them the other week too whilst watching it at his place 😂)

I saw my 1st game in1974 and that SF is still for me, the best game I have ever witnessed. Gary Thompson was immense 2nd half and still remains one of my favourite players ever. HR was bouncing when that 3rd goal went in and that team effort was phenomenal.

The MU SF runs it a very close 2nd and those couple of minutes before VAR got involved were up there with the happiest moments of my life.

Thommo was great that night and overall with us. A really nice guy too as went to one of those forums.

Treat it as one of your happiest moments.

We did win the game (Man Utd wouldn't have scored in the few seconds remaining after our goal). I have my reasons for being so adamant on that.

I was with my daughter who doesn't even like football. It was a truly wonderful moment for us that I will never forget.

still not having Wright as offside, Robbed of The best comeback in the history of football
I physically cannot watch any of the game back - Still boils my blood because I genuinely do not think it was offside

I am at peace with the Luton and Sunderland games as a result of last season, but there is every chance I will never live to see us in an FA Cup final, I still feel robbed to this day

Surprised no-one's mentioned the Wolves cup game.

Only a goal down, but undeservedly down to a late goal going into injury time against a higher ranked team away from home.

best come back has to be not just one game, but the last 3 of 1984/5 against Stoke, Luton & Everton, we were gone & looked all but certian to go down & then pulled out 3 great results

After a bit of Googling:
1946!
3-1 down vs Millwall.
Won 5-3.

I seem to remember 2 seasons on the spin we came back from 0-2 at home to Posh to win 3-2.

2-0 down away at Blues to win 2-4. That resulted in the infamous O'Hare sunglasses moment.

0-2 down to Blackpool at St.Andrews at HT to win 3-2 sticks in the mind too.

Plenty from 2-0 but dont recall anyone from 3 or more.
