Think you will know the tune for sure.

And this one most definitely. You must definitely know this melody I would have thought.

Can't say I particularly like this song at all myself to be honest though.

Probably not. I haven't heard the one you posted from YouTube. They're no Teenage Fanclub.

Just think some of their songs are very distinctive.

Could never get that Moving out of my head when it came out, but as I say, it's not a song I at all like.

Just think you and I have similar music tastes in many ways.

We have. I'm sure they're on Spotify and stuff, so will give them a listen. They're ne of those bands that I didn't take much notice of at the time - apart from the aforementioned Alright - and haven't since.

I bought the first supergrass album and tried very hard to like it. Ended up swapping it with a mate for a Hole cd which was so much better.

I'm probably being unfair as there seems a lot of love for them on here, but to me they seemed the classic "one hit wonder" kind of band. With a track so distinctive and catchy that it was a millstone.

Always baffles me that when somebody plays locally the bandwagon gets going and people are suddenly massive fans. I know people who couldn't name a red hot chilli peppers song but had been fans for years when they played the Ricoh.

I have trouble naming songs at times. I'm a big fan of Muse and know all their songs, but if you asked me to name them I would definitely struggle.

I doubt he will go anywhere near his supergrass stuff, he has released 3 solo albums since then.

I saw Supergrass at Warwick SU when they were doing some kind of 10 year greatest hits tour, surprised how much of them I recognised. I can confirm they've got a lot of hits because I remember my feet hurt and I wanted to go.

Have Editors played Godiva before? If not I'm confusing them with someone similar

Supergrass best album by some distance is "Road to Rouen" IMHO......no "radio hits" on it but a lovely little album.

I know it’s funny. The only reason I’ve ever heard of them was I once thought that someone on the radio was playing Supertramp and some shite came on and then discovered who they are.

I couldn’t name a single track and they seem to have retired a few years ago - I guess they’ve reformed.

To be fair Ive listened to RHCP since I was 16 and don't think I could actually name a song other than guessing it's one of the repeated words. That's the problem with Bands that basically have nonsense for lyrics.

Lol I’ve looked at his tour - most are capacities of 400 to 700 with plenty of tickets available. The Nottingham venue isn’t even Rock City

I've never forgiven them for cancelling there cov poly gig at the last minute in the 90s.
That reminds me, I still haven't got my refund!

What's that got to do with anything whatsoever?

The Godiva is a small, free festival. Would say Gaz Coombes, who has the pedigree of top albums and singles with Supergrass and is still appearing at the likes of Glastonbury is perfect for us and this is nothing to do with whether you like his music or not.

He has a recently released album that peaked at number 12 in the charts and his album has a rating of 79/100 on Metacritic

You also have to remember he is not headlining on the main stage here either.

Don't see there is anything to 'lol' about, myself.

Until Spider put put that clip up on here, I hadn't heard any of his solo work at all. Used to like Supergrass, but by no means all of their stuff. I would definitely not class myself as a Gaz Coombes fan either.

He's a name most people will have heard of, at least by association with Supergrass.

Don't see what the problem is if he isn't selling out on his tour.

Yup. Same here. Same concert. Gaz had a sore throat or something didn't he?

Only found out when I turned up.

Also, no excuse, Torch.

Just read up on Supergrass and they said they were heavily influenced by the Buzzcocks.

Would highlight the track and single 'Lenny' as having very much a Buzzcocks sound and feel to it at times.
