So Bob Vylan were supposed to be headlining Radar festival this weekend but they got removed and then it all kicked off.

Ticket buyers were furious and when the festival refused refunds people started doing chargebacks via their card issuer and other acts due to appear started pulling out.

Then it came to light that the promoter, who is an independent promoter, was treated by Israeli backed lawyers and obviously didn't have the financial capacity to fight them. To top it all off it's now been revealed she's personally been receiving death threats.
Lawfare or regulatory censure, often used to silence any action or independent point of view.

What was the threat?
The local Conservative Party threatened the promoter, and the venue, with action under the public order act and a vague 'other relevant legislation', but the main threat was from Israeli linked solicitors, UK Lawyers For Israel, who were threating legal action against pretty much anyone involved including the promoter, in a personal and professional capacity, and the venue. Promoter was also getting doorstepped by what she described as right wing media.

It's the SISU model really isn't it, except actually working. Doesn't matter if there's no foundation to the legal threat when one side has the money and desire to drag things out for years and the other can't afford to do that.

I can’t believe any party of whatever persuasion politically wouldn’t have done the same.

Well given that only the Conservative Party actually did…..probably not?

The prime minister described their action as hate speech.

Im sure you agree with him and how can anyone allow people delivering hate speech to continue to practice that?
