Coventry City would, once again, like to thank supporters for their patience as they purchase Season Tickets and match tickets for the first game back at the Ricoh Arena against Gillingham.

The club has received unprecedented demand ahead of the match on Friday, September 5, which has resulted in queues at the CCFC Superstore at the Gallagher Retail Park and huge demand on the www.ccfcshop.co.uk website.

To meet that demand today, the club has opened up additional cash tills inside the CCFC Superstore to sell tickets in blocks 14 and 25 when supporters do not have a preference over which seat they sit in. This has helped to get supporters served quicker.

Season Tickets have been available in-store but the focus, in the main, has been on match tickets for the Gillingham game which are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for concessions, £1 for children and are free for Junior Sky Blues under 12.

The Season Ticket queue was stopped at around 2.30pm to ensure everyone in the queue was served.

The match tickets queue was stopped at around 3.30pm again to ensure everyone who had queued got the tickets they wanted.

The Superstore will be open as normal on Saturday (from 9.30am until 5.30pm) with same arrangements as Friday – with three regular tills open for Gillingham tickets, one till for Season Tickets and two cash tills for Gillingham tickets where fans have no preference for where they sit.

The club has received reports of congestion on the website, particularly in the morning, but this was starting to ease as the day wore on.

Supporters are advised to use the Google Chrome browser and to be as patient as possible when logging onto www.ccfcshop.co.uk

The website is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week so supporters are also advised to log on late at night or early in the morning to avoid congestion on the web.

All Season Tickets and matchday tickets purchased via the web or over the phone to date will be posted out and will not be available for collection.

To that end, the CCFC Superstore will be open on Sunday but there will be only a two hour window between 10.30am and 12.30pm to buy tickets or Season Tickets.

That is to give staff the opportunity to post all tickets purchased so far via the web or phone and also to work through a backlog of emails and phone messages in a bid to start next week with a clear run.

Supporters are, therefore, advised against calling over the weekend unless absolutely necessary.

Finally, the club would like to reiterate its thank you to all supporters for their patience and good humour when queuing for tickets and we do understand that it is taking longer than most people would have expected.

At the this stage, we have sold 2097 Season Tickets and a further 6,003 match tickets for the Gillingham game, which only serves to highlight the genuine excitement at our return to the city and we look forward to seeing everybody at the Ricoh Arena next Friday.
