He does seem to have everything
Bar that killer instinct

If he makes that step up , I'm sure he will be the player ccfc think he is, he's been around the first team for a couple years now so they must see something in him.

I agree that he does have that quick footballing brain.
I wonder if he'd be better off in the middle ?his upper body reminds me a lot like John fleck's

19 or not - you need the ability - I see nothing there at all
I would love him to ram it down my throat , but I suspect that will be playing for Cov united in a couple of years time

that's right, because every player in the history of football has shown his full potential by the age of 19 FFS!

he nearly scored on tuesday after a shit touch. when one of these goes in he might get confidence and go on a run. we all saw his record in u21s

but id drop him for shrews. reid jones sordell

although that assist from lameries for gadzhev was sweeeeeeet. and he nearly scored wonder goal too

I agree he may end up at cov Utd but after one game of the season he gets a thread with what's the point next to his name And at 19 really is not going to help his confidence is it?

Is it any wonder some of our kids look terrified when they play how about encouraging them when they make a mistake like we did with Haynes on Tuesday he started to get a bit of confidence. Instead we get this moan, groan you're shit type attitude. You're called supporters well fucking well support

In fairness, I didn't hear or see anybody abusing Thomas at the game or any boos etc.

No matter how shocking I think players are I will get behind them and clap them if they come on / go off.

You sound like my mate who said he could do a job for us when we were in the Championship. The only difference between Sunday league and the Championship is, and I quote, "The pitches are bigger"

There's still too many people in our support that think we deserve to be in the premier league. Robbie Keane was 19 when we signed him wasn't he, all of our young players should be that good.

Have played 5 aside against a couple of conference players. The gulf in that and sunday league was stupid.

Although they did cry like bitches all the time when you smashed them into the wall for trying to do a stepover

The few times Ive seen him he looks to lack any bite and as said doesnt head straight for the goal. He is young but for him to improve he needs a season at another club playing week in week out and at a club that has a coach who has played the game and can bring his game on. Too early to dismiss him just yet I say.

Lets try and put this into perspective, George Thomas is a kid trying to make it in the world of football, as we all know players look totally different when they are full of confidence. I marked him down after seeing him play on Tuesday and rightly so because he had a mare all players do at some point in their careers..we all want ready made footballers who are going to be world beaters playing for us but sadly thats not going to happen. Obviously the coaching staff see something in him although, I doubt Oggy will see anything past that great big fuckin conk of his..
People last year were saying we should try and develop our own players instead of so many loan players...well that is happening now, I think all the kids we have playing now are capable of great games but they need to add consistency to their games and do it on a regular basis, lets not write him off too much just yet...see what develops and who knows...
Look at McShufty when he went out on loan in his 1st spell here, people were in uproar when he got sold to Brum...Over to you now George...do the bizz and silence the doubters

Seriously there is more knockers on here than a page 3 calendar!!
Did he really have much chance on Tuesday? To be fair to George he had limited service, if the midfield are not playing you in and creating opportunities for you or your strikers each side of you are not creating space for you to exploit your gonna get nothing but judged as done nothing and shit.
That first half we never offered him much service, only a few lofted balls for him to chase... That's not service. I think he'd be quite good playing down the middle with the pace of Jones and Reid either side.
But seriously to say what's the point...
Look what Ryan Haynes offered that first half, I think are few are forgetting and blinded by his second half performance. Look how many poor touches did he have, balls he didn't trap that went out for a throw unchallenged. Then a change for the tricky fast JJ came on pinned pompy back then Reid came on and pompy were camped in there own half giving him time and space which he thrived in and his confidence grew. This could well of been a thread of Ryan Haynes what's the point...

He looks intelligent and tidy enough in his general play, agree with the poster who said he won't develop into an out and out striker and will be more of a number 10

Yeah that was me. Now he's bulked up its taken a bit of his speed away but the other aspects of his game are there he just needs fine tuning. It takes time tho. But playing him on the left of a slow front line don't suit him

you might be right, all I ask is people give the lad a chance.

Now stating he isn't good enough on a message board is one thing, but you can guarantee the usual fuck wits will be booing and getting on his case before long.

I agree with you. MY opinion is that he isnt good enough. I will happily eat my words should he come good and would love this to happen.

The people that boo their own players are,in MY opinion only, helping nobody.

Just because you've said 'my opinion' doesn't mean other people have to keep quiet and not respond to what you have said if they disagree. It's not a get out of jail free card.

I have no problem with a difference of opinion, we are all entitled to think what we want. The world would be a boring place if we all agreed. It was the "FFS" that I didn't think necessary. Thanks for your comment. PUSB

Agreed think it's far to presumptuous to write off a player when he's only 19. Callum Wilson was a liability with a permanent reservation on our physio table before he fulfilled his potential. Most players don't come good until around 21/22. Think the poster saying "what's the point" is harsh. He's a lad that tries his best when he pulls on a sky blue shirt, give him a chance.
