I heard he decides to do different accents to different characters in the show. But reality it seems is he just lost the original voice. Very strange but part of what makes him an enigma character. The theory he's not really dead is better than anything the writers have written in the last season

I was clinging onto that theory as Littlefinger was my favourite character, followed by Varys.

Their deaths were more examples of bad writing. Littlefinger would have fled Winterfell at the first hint that he was in trouble and Varys "master of whisperers" was mouthing off on an open beach to Jon about how he wanted to overthrow Danerys.

Such well written characters turned into dithering fools.

That's completely missing the point and I already explained that everyone knew that Danerys had the capacity to become mad.

Here's the issue, again. She went from being upset about her mate dying and her nephew not shagging her into a becoming a mass murdering lunatic, in the space of one scene, without any proper context as to what made her crack.

That's shit writing, full stop.

That's gone through my head too. Dexter went from being amazing TV to some kind of awful soap opera.

Watching live?

I think I may well do. Always seem to get up around 1-2am anyway to go to the bathroom, so should be quite easy for me.

Am expecting the Greyjoys involved somewhere and much bigger attention on Sansa and Bran.

A total bloodbath and Gendry a king by the end of it all?

Sky Atlantic announces social media blackout to help Game of Thrones fans avoid spoilers

Sky Atlantic has called for Silence in the Realms and announced a social media blackout to help Game of Thrones fans avoid spoilers.

With the fantasy show's final ever episode airing tonight in the US (and at 2am on Monday morning in the UK), fans are naturally desperate to avoid spoilers before they've seen the finale.

So Sky has confirmed that its Atlantic social channels – including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter – will be silent for a full 24 hours from midnight tonight (May 19), to try to and prevent Thrones fans having the final episode spoiled for them.

While Sky Atlantic is keeping silent, all other Sky branded channels will be posting as normal – but don't worry, they won't mention Game of Thrones either.

It comes after research shows that over half of British people (or 59%, to be accurate) are worried about the show's ending being spoilt for them before they've had a chance to watch the finale, with 69% of people planning to avoid social media until they've seen it.

You know, that's if you're not getting up at 2am to watch it live – which 30% of us are planning to do.

I will probably get up for it but more out if tradition and as it's the last ever episode I don't want some smug c**t ruining it for me tomorrow.

I think Jon and Tyrion will scheme a way to end Danerys but getting passed her army and dragon won't be easy. Maybe Bronn will turn up and help along with the invincible Arya. Brann could possibly warg into the dragon and end everything rather quickly. I think those are the obvious routes and I hope that doesn't happen.

Jon and Tyrion have blood on their hands now too so a happy ending for them may be undeserved.

Brilliant so far as far as I am concerned.
And I loved the Dany/dragon staircase shot. Beautiful.

I did think Kit Harrington's acting was a lot stronger in this episode. And Bran didn't send me to sleep as he usually does, either.

*Spoilers*

Well that was dull wasn't it?

It ended pretty much how I imagined it would apart from Brann being made the king which was a great moment of unintentional comedy.

Danery's death had very little dramatic impact and then everything was tied up neatly but it all felt unsatisfactory and unearned.

Overall it has been a great TV show that delivered some amazing moments and I'll always think fondly of it.

I usually only read sports autobiographies but might give these a go

Yes I did them as audio books whilst at work and I thought they were great! More detail than the program. Although you picture every character as those in the tv show lol

Yes I've read them - they are heavy going at times (A Feast for Crows especially). You can see why they didn't introduce all his characters otherwise we'd have about 100 seasons!, but I think it was worth the time investment.

Just finished watching it and don't know how to sum it up coherently right now.

King Bran? Jesus fucking Christ. I'm so bitterly disappointed in how that ended. There was no satisfaction whatsoever.

What was the point in Arya other than to kill Walder and Littlefinger?

Jon travels all that way to be sent back to the wall? He killed a tyrant whose followers were last seen sailing off to a distant land. What's the point going back to where he started?

P.s. Due to this season you cannot regard GoT as the best TV show ever.

Shite.

That's what I was thinking. I've rewatched The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and The Shield multiple times because they're consistently good and the quality rarely dips but GOT seriously fucked the ending. I couldn't imagine watching that last season again.

Even Season 7 was fairly rubbish but I forgave it because I thought the last season would be amazing.

Again, looked epic, some stunning shots, Dany with wings etc, but for a programme that got so much right, it's got a lot wrong. I've given it the benefit of doubt, but that wasn't great. Every big moment this season has been a damp squib, and made it all seem so inconsequential

It was interesting to note (well it was to me), that just about every single main character
ended up alone. Jon, Ayra, Sansa, Brienne, Gendry, Tyrion, Greyworm, Bron, Davos, Bran,Tormund , Podrick etc.

Only Samwell who had Gilly and that was it.

So, even though it had a reasonably upbeat ending, it was still rather downbeat in many ways.

There was literally no point in Jon being Targaryen
