Does that mean we can't sign any players in June, MR likes to get his signings in early and has hinted at that already.

Thinking about it, on ERTE out here some bars have taken staff back on whilst keeping the others on ERTE. I guess if we sign new players before July we can just pay them.

But in any business you can furlough staff and still recruit so I still don’t see why if we wanted to we couldn’t sign in June

I'd say we can sign them, just not claim furlough payments for those signings as they've not been employed long enough by us to qualify.

You absolutely can sign players even whilst using the furlough scheme - fans just love a conspiracy theory.

There was pretty widespread condemnation of Barrow back in January where they just furloughed a load of their out of favour players & signed new ones to replace them.
Unethical yes but perfectly legal.
