I've got so many questions, I can't even be arsed to speculate. I think I'll let them crack on and tune in if something actually comes of it.

I hope it's more than watching empty sky blue seats on iFollow for the rest of the season though.

I’d rather us stay at St Andrew’s if fans aren’t allowed back in for ages. We have made that place a fortress

The two aren't mutually exclusive. It's the same as we were looking at in the summer, short term lease. Don't think anyone should be getting hopes up that something will happen quickly.

This cant be anything but positive news. Im sure there would be a break out clause as with most tenancies.

Im sure all the party's will be trying to strike a deal in time for City of Culture 2021. Surely this has got to be the aim.

Be excellent PR and would be a massive deal for sports and Culture in the city. Would be great feel good factor fans or no fans in the ground.

Building a new ground, and agreeing a rental deal at the Ricoh, don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Chances of either or both happening are of course an entirely different debate.

Starting to think it will never happen as it’s so far down the list of things that matter for the Eu and uk at this moment in time and maybe that moment in time will never come to fruition

Any agreement wouldn’t affect this other than potentially increasing funding to ccfc once crowds are back at games

Why would that be? What benefit does going back to Ricoh give us if fans aren’t allowed in anyways?
Surely Wasps financially suffering more puts us in a better position long term

I’m not yet frustrated with that. Think sisu / ccfc / Warwick uni were pretty clear that there would only be updates once there was progress, in my head I expected something in 3-6 months. November time

Sharing a pitch with a well established championship club with a premiership quality pitch or sharing a rugby pitch that will be churned up... I know my preference if there’s no fans allowed in

Other than the local conservatives getting their knickers in a twist about it

No news is good news at the moment as stuff will be happening in the background

Back to the Ricoh for the next 4/5 years whilst it's built is win win for everyone

If we don’t go back to the Ricoh and have no where else then we are likely to cease to exist, certainly never allowed

SISU/ccfc are in a good bargaining position here. There is little incentive, while no fans are allowed, for us to return to the Ricoh, however having seen the article on the bond covenants there is pressure on Wasps for more income. I can see SISU/ccfc pushing for a better deal here.

On the new stadium, SISU stated when we returned to the Ricoh before that it was only on a temporary basis while we sorted out a new stadium. Whether that was bluster or not only time will tell.

As for the EU complaint who knows what is happening there, I don't think there is any of enquiring outside of the involved parties?

All in all an interesting development.

The proposed potential stadium at University of Warwick

Unfortunately I live in Australia so didn’t hear what happened on today’s radio discussion so if someone can fill me in that would be great.

Going to the Ricoh, is that proposed long term then is it? Because previous plans there haven’t been long term either

No. From what we know Wasps wanted long term and CCFC didn’t. That didn’t stop a deal being agreed though, it was just Wasps wanting to use the Ricoh as leverage to stop Sisu suing in the future that stopped it.

This is also why the “Wasps really need us” stuff makes no sense as they clearly didn’t need us that much to turn us down before.

Hopefully this is Wasps seeing sense in that their tactics aren’t working so they may as well not punish fans.

Id hope any deal is contingent on fans being back in. No point paying break penalties to Brum just to have a different backdrop for iFollow games really.

I do wonder if we’d be allowed more at the Ricoh though. Certainly entry and exit is less crowded than St Andrew’s and distancing should be more possible. But god know what the actual requirements from SAGs are.

I can’t see what would have changed minds for this to take place. Boddy’s statement just a few months ago made it seem like the whole relationship had broken down.

I can see no away fans and all stands being used so possibly more fans but absolutely easier to leave from the Ricoh in a "safer" way than at st Andrews

I think the bond news yesterday and it's implications means wasps are now happy for a 4/5 year deal to have it on the balance sheet (as it's better than nothing) and who knows what will happen with the new stadium, I personally still think it will happen but it's great to have the Ricoh as a viable backup in case things get delayed or go to shit

Yeah I just want us to be in Cov while we sort anything. Five years away minimum just isn’t sustainable.

The only strong incentive for a SISU/ccfc return to the Ricoh would be if a particularly good deal was offered. If, as you say, we are just swapping backdrops and financially there is no difference, then it isn't worth returning from a SISU/ccfc point of view.

Often it’s enough to realise that every party has reason to be naffed off and to hold on to frustrations but if there is a win win scenario then why wouldn’t those parties wish to pursue it

Wasps probably do need us as the covenant issues centre around a clear potential devaluation of the site which would be strengthened by having a championship club playing there

IF wasps are instigating talks and SISU have some kind of upper hand, I hope this is an opportunity to finally get it right after all these years.

Weather that's a decent cost and length of rental while they actually start to build at the Uni - or an amicable partnership seeing us buy into a 50/50 share of the Richo lease and all the perks the council offered wasps.

Stop the one upmanship, stop trying to screw each other over ... get it resolved one way or the other.

Depends which discussions. Not sure anyone knows the whole story of why everything broke down last time.
