If they build a giant Wetherspoons, a Ski Jump and and multi levelled indoor/outdoor go-kart/paintball/themepark then I'm in.

Is there any way anyone could put a brief transcript up of what was said, I did see a similar article on the CT but it was very brief.

Never used any Apple appliances ,but if i had a Critisism It is exclusivity and price .

From what i'm aware they are a tad on the side of restrictive Practice /licensing on trade ,something that Is frowned upon in an employment environ ,I could be wrong though.

Of course they want the land. They would need it to build this new stadium which is plan A.

In précis: The arena has a hotel, casino, restaurants, conference centre, etc. The owners of the football cub don't believe they can play football at the Ricoh unless they have complete unfettered freehold ownership of the stadium and it's surrounds

What did "property developer" Preston Haskell want do you think? Just the club?

And she also said something like: 'The Arena won't be sold anytime soon, I'm sad to say'.

I think he wanted the lot also. Sound business sense. Keep you spending for 24 hours+ rather than 90 minutes.

It's the model to aspire to surely? Do we all believe money made in Vegas is at the tables? Or through the add on's?
Question is, how much flows back into CCFC?

Didn't Bob Ainsworth post a map showing some of the land (one of the car parks?) belonged to the council and imply that SISU wanted that handed over to them as well?

I'm sorry MMM, I'm with grenduffy on this. The whole package. A night in a hotel, 3 meals. Booze and games in a casino. Valet parking. Other outlets benefiting from sales. That's the key

90 mins and a balti pie. Forget it

Why don't you deal with this issue, as opposed to rolling-in a hypothesis we know little about? This is a statement, in public, that we can take a view on

I am of the belief that this is the issue though. Your comment implies its unreasonable, my response suggests its the only arrangement any sane buyer would countenance.

Grendel raises a good point though MMM and it's a continuing point in Smouch's post below, when Richardson planned to build the Arena, it was because he wanted a venue that could be used 365 days a year to be able to fully support the growth of the Club, I am not surprised Sisu want it all, it was the original pipe dream of one of the many parties that put us in this mess. PH4 is no different, as is no one else that would come in.

They can have everything they just have to pay for it and buy it from the right people. The council can't sell it all as they don't own it all. If you want the unfettered freehold you have to buy the fettered freehold and then pay off everyone who has a lease there, completely unrealistic of course but thats the only way it can happen. More realistically, you buy ACL and you buy the fettered freehold. That gives you more than you need to run a football club here and build more revenue generating facilities. If you want any of the other leases gone you'll have to wait for them to expire or reach a settlement.

Asking the council to spend tens of millions to acquire all the leases back so that they can sell the whole lot is ridiculous, ludicrous and completely nonsensical. As well as opening the council up to getting well and truly screwed if sisu did then not buy the unfettered freehold. leaving the council down a fortune and with only costs and no income in the area, as well as damaging part of Coventry.

If they can pull off all I've suggested. It makes for a whole weekend of pumping into the SISU dollar and leaves the likes of 'The Emirates' in the shade. Throw in a golf course and they'll stay Sunday also

As has been said on previous posts the key word in what she said was "unfettered". It would appear that SISU want CCC to handle the winding up of ACL's lease, which in turn would require ACL to wind up their leases. This would be an expensive and complicated affair. Far easier and more pragmatic would be for SISU to buy ACL too.
I haven't heard anything that would suggest that CCC would rule this out and I think that Higgs, as part owners of ACL, would go along too.
Either SISU aren't prepared to pay the price for this or this is another shifting of stance by them that enables them the illusion of negotiation perhaps pending the JR decision.
