Yeah but they don’t have Super Frankie Lampaaardddd!!Thing is you can’t just break your wage structure for one player
And we do have to consider the possibility we don’t go up. Maybe he would go for a promotion incentive based deal, but I imagine the likes of Valencia and Sheff Utd would be able to meet his demands off the bat.
Exactly what we needCan see why you want him, he wont shy away from tackles and will win the ball back... on the ball is the issue but your midfield should be able to make up for it. He isnt making our squad, I reckon this is done by thursday.
Yeah he makes him sound amazingExactly what we need
on the ball he is genuinely woeful, he has a first touch of a trampoline and absolutely no passing ability. Brentford very rarely get them wrong but we got this one quite wrong. With Grimes already in the midfield, Onyeka wont offer much else.
he then say thisYeah he makes him sound amazing
We need someone to do the dirty side of the gameYeah he makes him sound amazing
no one is saying that, people are just saying for games like today having someone who will add defensive shield, fill gaps in the midfield when we lose the ball and win the ball back is valuableIf we genuinely think he’s the key to turning it all around then let’s do it. But let’s not pretend there are easy fixes here, because by the sounds of it there are plenty of holes in his game, and plenty of other issues we’ve got to sort through non-transfer-related means.

I didn’t watch tonight but sounds like there were some pretty serious issues with how we set up tactically? Maybe I’m wrong though. What do you mean? Like what?
Yeah like being cut open in midfieldI didn’t watch tonight but sounds like there were some pretty serious issues with how we set up tactically? Maybe I’m wrong though.
You don't need every player to be a playmaker. You need enablers in the team too.If we genuinely think he’s the key to turning it all around then let’s do it. First and foremost it was individual errors. No one can watch the 2nd goal and tell me it’s tactical.I didn’t watch tonight but sounds like there were some pretty serious issues with how we set up tactically? Maybe I’m wrong though.
While that certainly can be true, it’s also not true of how we’ve played and won most of our games this season. Again, maybe he’s our guy and we can change things up, but at this stage of the season it may not be the one simple trick it’s being billed as.You don't need every player to be a playmaker. We just lack athleticism and ball winning in midfield and feel that for balancing purposes, that gives us an edge. While that certainly can be true, it’s also not true of how we’ve played and won most of our games this season. Again, maybe he’s our guy and we can change things up, but at this stage of the season it may not be the one simple trick it’s being billed as.
I want our form back to where it was as much as anyone, but forgive me for questioning if a player with “the first touch of a trampoline” is necessarily “exactly what we need”
I know, but things have moved on. Teams have got wise to us to an extent so we now need to counter that. While that certainly can be true, it’s also not true of how we’ve played and won most of our games this season. I agree, and I think that will depend on Frank. Just not necessarily Frank Onyeka.I know, but things have moved on. Teams have got wise to us to an extent so we now need to counter that.
Exactly, if teams have sussed us then change it.I know, but things have moved on. Teams have got wise to us to an extent so we now need to counter that.
What else is he going to say? He isn't going to give out tactical information in interviews.Exactly, if teams have sussed us then change it.
Trouble is I don't think we can, we don't have the personnel.
FLs response when asked in recent weeks as how to put things right is WORK, it's the only way I know.
He talks about the culture at the club with the squad wanting to learn, take on new ideas, working hard on the training ground.
I'm not seeing much evidence of that on match days since December.
'm not questioning what his response is, I'm perfectly happy with it and I'm in total agreement. What else is he going to say? He isn't going to give out tactical information in interviews.
Just 2 games ago we changed shape mid game as the one we started with wasn't working, we have also played different formations away from home this season.
There is no evidence we won't change tactically and there's not a massive amount needed, Torp was set up far to high last night which left a big gap off the ball and Grimes isolated on the ball. Torp deeper means that gap isn't there and it also gives Grimes an option other than playing it long.
This couple with a midfielder at 10 who will support deeper than BTA who is basically a CF when he is asked to play 10 will hopefully give us a more solid base and better build up play options.
That was before we owned the Arena. The additional revenue strems should allow more flexibility. Now it's got to be more a case of Doug isn't willing to pay the wages. As was the case with Hamer and O’Hare, if it comes down to money we can’t compete with them.
The arena was losing money under Ashley...That was before we owned the Arena. The additional revenue strems should allow more flexibility. Now it's got to be more a case of Doug isn't willing to pay the wages.
Any real evidence:As I have posted before, forget Onyeka.
Birmingham City want him and they will outbid us on the transfer fee and wages. We just can't compete with them, which is why they were set to snatch Manneh from us until he failed his medical.
We’d pulled out of signing him.@SleepyGinger
It's all very well giving that reaction but the truth is we can't compete with Birmingham when it comes to money. I don't like it any more than you do but there's not point sticking our heads in the sand.
Birmingham signed a winger today for £7 million quid plusAny real evidence:
a) That they even want him that much, I don't accept them being tacked on to a few stories is actual evidence. The press use them to drive up clicks.
b) That we still wanted Manneh, the news was we had pulled out as we were not happy with something and decided Esse and Yang were they better bets long before blues thought they were signing him. The fella on here said we had pulled out as we had seen something iffy about him, so had the Greek team and seemingly now blues.
Could free up Grimes if the FBs played as FBs rather than wingbackswould free up Grimes to have more space and dictate again
