Ready Or Not

It's billed as a horror but it's more of a comedy. It's quite like Knives Out in that it's very self aware and a bit smug. I didn't really enjoy it apart from one or two moments.

5/10

Really looking forward to seeing this. Plus 1917 is the year my Dad was born. My uncle John, (his oldest brother) was born 1895. Bloomin' ancient, eh?

You should really enjoy it. The way it's filmed as one continuous scene works really well.

Really puts into perspective what they all had to go through

Just Mercy

This was quite a dull film despite the subject matter. I didn't feel like the acting was inspired enough to lift this from a standard court room drama film into something memorable. Bree Larson was particularly wooden.

Jamie Foxx was the only thing I enjoyed about the film and he wasn't in it much. A true story about a great man but that doesn't automatically make for a great film.

American women. Maube sienna millers best evee performance

Quite engaging film ala prisoners but more of a character piece

A Beautiful Day In The Neighbourhood

This is a very different but somehow very ordinary Hollywood film. It's different in the ways it's shot and the methods used in storytelling and its also unusual in that it's a film completely devoid of cynicism. It's basically about kindness and forgiveness. It unfortunately follows the typical Hollywood formula though so the whole thing feels a bit too predictable.

Tom Hanks also comes across as very creepy in this even though his character is a unbelievably nice man.

Parasite

Not the best film of 2019 regardless of what the Oscars say but still really good.

I can't really say much more because it'll spoil the film.

Charlie’s Angels

4/10 - utter gash, even the gash wasn’t that great. Badly written, badly acted, hilariously over egged super feminist motifs, just bad.

Jumanji - The Next Level

I didn't enjoy this as much as the first. It felt like a cash grab with poor CGI. The story was completely uninteresting too. Extra points for the sexy Scottish girl.

Guns Akimbo: Hard to watch any Daniel Radcliffe movie and not insert Harry Potter. Was overly cheesy but still enjoyable. Heavy 90s cyberpunk vibe which is my bag and some nice moments amongst the ridiculousness.

I'm still thinking about this film a few months after seeing it. Adam Sandler has earned my complete respect for his great performance.

If you liked Uncut Gems try a film called Good Time. It's made by the same directors and is another tense brooding film. It's on Netflix.

Just watched it but not feeling it at all.
Bit over rated in my opinion.

It's one of those films that are lauded more for the social commentary than the actual story.

I felt slightly let down by the ending. It was a bit rushed and a bit unrealistic.
