Fightback against the boo boys (2 Viewers)

Booing is retarded. If you're booing because a player is playing badly - it's only going to make things worse. Especially with Hussey who's a confidence player.

What bigger club did bothroyd go to? I can only think of cardiff&qpr, who imo aren't bigger clubs than us. This all getting a bit petty now,if our players actually showed some effort and played for 90 minutes they probably wouldn't get booed. They're grown men aren't they?

u dont think cardiff & qpr r bigger clubs than us? Are you insane!

Do you think you would be more productive at work if you had a couple of hundred idiots behind you insulting and booing you every time you tried to do something? Could you concentrate? Would you want to work in that situation?

If you paid me 2k a week I could do it, I work with a bunch of boring idiots, so am quite use to turning off for 8 hours a day.

I think Cardiff is a tough one, as post-war I would argue that they aren't as successful as us, however during the past decade they have been consistently higher placed. Their fan base is bigger and their stadium is top-notch. It's the toss of a coin unless you base it on the past ten years. QPR are a smaller club, again consistently under-performing in comparison to ourselves, but they are currently better than us both on the pitch and off it. It depends how you look at it - a few years ago would we say that Peterborough were bigger than Leeds because they were in a higher division? We are a big club, but not in the same way we once were.

I don't think you can compare your boss giving you positives and negatives with being booed by 5000 people. I'm sure you wouldn't think it was so acceptable then.

Secondly, I don't think you can boo players for not being (in your opinion) good enough. Is that their fault? We are in L1 and we have L1 players i think the booers have more of a problem than the players. We have the players we can afford and who we deserve to have. At the end of the day though they play for the club you support.

I don't get what the problem is with booing a player. In every day work, my employer will appraise my performance and feedback the positives and the negatives. This is so I am slowly ironed out to be the best I can be. I think booing a player is an extension of this. 8

By booing you are not insulting someones religion, racially abusing or calling the players mum a ho bag... you're just booing, are players so emotionally stunted that they will go home and cry about it? and as a supporter this is my way of giving feedback so players are left with no room for doubt what is expected and that underperforming won't be tollerated.

Why do people get their knickers in a twist about it? I would say it is every fans right.. nay, duty! to continue to let the players know that substandard performances aren't god enough for this club.

If a club has never won anything they haven't won much less than us.

Skyblue4ever,tell me why they are bigger, what have they ever won?

Bigger fanbase, more potential, own stadiums, bigger attendance's, better players, bigger wage bill, one premiership & 1 i believe will be v soon......
Cardiff are FA cup & community shield winners
QPR league winners & League cup winners

Any more reasons.........

As a matter of interest where you at the game?

Did you actually witness how poor it was?

Yep - anyone booing is a total cock. Are they too thick to realise that it's counter-productive?! The player being booed is likely to get worse, and his team mates are likely to get down about it too.

As for the Kevin Kyle thing the poor bloke tried but had f*ck all service. City fans made him a scapegoat

Perhaps if he didn't piss all his wages up the casino he'd have been able to concentrate better.

Referees are booed up and down the country for doing a harder job and nobody bats an eyelid-indeed, it's almost encouraged.

Sounds to me like you are a boo boy coming out with excuses for them like that.

Our season has gone shite since the boo boys started. There was a lack of them against Brum. We played not so good at the start. Would we have beat them if all the boo boys would have been at it from the start before we got into the game?

Are you claiming it helps them? If it did we would be top of the table.

How pathetic, nothing to do with piss poor players then?

I like your style.

We have gone from having a piss poor manager to piss poor players. Nothing to do with the piss poor so called supporters......yet...

It doesn't matter.

Booing makes it worse. Either:

a) Booers aren't bright enough to realise that, or
b) They don't care if it makes the team worse - in which case piss off!!!

The booing and abuse of players/managers also puts off other supporters. When I sit there, amongst that hostility, there is no way that I would entertain the idea of taking someone to the game - I know it would put them off for life.

How on earth are we ever going to attract new fans ?!?!?

Maybe you guys could lobby the club for a lifetime ban for anybody who boos. Follow that up with a lifetime ban for anybody who doesn t sing all game. In fact let's create a blueprint for the modern football fan and ban anyone who does nt fit into that.

As another alternative people could grow some hair on their bollocks and get over it

I like the hysterical hypocrisy when a player reacts to their boos. Brilliant.

OR the fans that aren't total c£&]$ can cheer on the players getting boo'd.

Seems an awful lot of our fans are heroines of Jane Austen style novels who faint at bad language and a bit of booing.

As bad as each other, the ones who give abuse out to the players who, when receiving any response back, are all "How very dare he? The bounder! Mr Darcy, would you be so kind as to pass me the smelling salts please? I am feeling a little faint"

The ones on their high-horse about booing much the same.

Totally agree, kilbane is public enemy no 1 because he reacted to a barrage of abuse! This is obviously unacceptable because he is a model professional and should be okay with it.... Hmmm bollocks! Slight double standards people!

Firstly, people who boo or abuse their own players are not aiming to help the player or the team. They are like toddlers having a tantrum. They can't get their own way (which is the team to play well and win) so they throw a wobbly. No logic, no purpose, just anger and spite against guys they see as rich, spoilt and lazy.
Secondly, they do not care if it puts off other fans or potential fans. They actively want to reduce the fan base to people like themselves, bitter and twisted, taking out their frustrations by getting drunk and abusive.
Thirdly, and most importantly, lordsummerisle, Jane Austen heroines do not faint away. They have contempt, as she did, for such wimps.
