How ever did we manage to win the Olympics ahead of the French
That was In the bag wasn't It?
Something definitely has gone on
Somewhere , someone has definitely pulled a fast one or actually won the right to host the competition.in Russia ,possibly at the expense of England who may in private have had the Impression It was In the bag

What Is true and clear Is that 2022 to be decided at the same time as 2018 was absolutely absurd and Is clearly a case of turning the World upside down to accommodate that choice, utterly bizarre!!

On the matter of FIFA It has to be transformed. / reformed
You just can't have the same guy at the head for more than one term, Its not healthy,Its not a dynasty and could perpetuate the continuation of poor decisions

For all the perception of It being the Pinacle or giant of football It really isn't or won't be if It Isn't careful
It has to be open to the same Scrutiny as company/ corporation and taxed accordingly

If I'm not mistaken the Premiership has possibly now outstripped It financially, that should be good enough reason for members to have Jettisoned him last time

Not that I'm a huge fan of the Premiership and Its greed or distribution either, maybe Scudamore should stand aside too!!

Holland has a population of 17,000,000 whilst Argentina's is 41,000,000 I think that makes this a loaded question
Also, can you tell me why the world cup has never been held in Holland, a country with the second oldest F.A.

As far as I know (and I'm no expert) FIFA rejected Holland's proposal to host the World Cup as it was a joint application together with neighbouring Belgium and Luxembourg while FIFA tends to favour bids from single nations.

Another consideration was that at present there is no stadium in Holland capable of seating 80,000 for a World Cup final.

I think it's high time we took back football, brought it home to England and form a new confederation. FIFA should be finished. To do that a boycott by some of the best footballing nations on the planet (Germany, England, Brazil, Holland etc) and an alternative tournament offered would see that house of cards fall for good.

Is this serious? And people wonder why the English are accused of arrogance?! Do you think the English are so superior to be above corruption as well?

The decision to do 2018 and 2022 was not absurd from the point of view of Blatter and his cronies. They couldn't guarantee being in power for the next decision - partly due to age and partly due to constant accusations of corruption. Better to get the "goody bags" ( as Jack Warner called the "gifts" ) now rather than later.

Platini voted for Qatar. That raises questions. That is voting massively against the interests of UEFA.

Blatter's weird acceptance speech showed how amateurish he is. In a secretative club you can talk crap to your cronies - as long as they are sharing the benefits, but now the spotlight is on him we can see the crafty old man telling us bullshit and treating us as naive children. He is out of it and will never see his term out. He was asked to leave by Platini, who must know the game is up ( also for him ), and should have taken the advice.

The point is FIFA have shown themselves to be unfit for purpose. The problem with it is the countries of the world where corruption and bribery are commonplace, outweigh the countries that are far less likely to get involved with such things.

Now I think its wrong for our FA to be part of such an organisation, and I am sure the majority of people in Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand feel the same way about their respected FA's.

Now, if you don't want to be part of a corrupt system, and decide to leave, how on earth can that ever be described as arrogance?

Fun article describing how Blatter keeps his support.

Looks at the Caymen Islands, a country of 58,000 people who has as much influence on FIFA votes as Germany, China or India.

A Fifa conference is due any minute. Going by the media in the room, this was rushed by Fifa as things aren't ready.

In fairness we can't exactly take the moral high ground on that issue. As a country we account for 4 members of FIFA.

Being reported that Blazer has confirmed bribes were accepted for the World Cups in France and South Africa. Who was head of the French organising committee? No wonder Platini was supporting Blatter.

As as soon as a bit of pressure has been applied they seem to have broken and the whole thing is falling apart now, Blatter needs to get his tailor in to make him a lovely orange suit for him to wear when they pull him in as well.

The US tend to offer a decent plea bargain. They'll want the guy at the top so will be happy to see those lower down get a lesser punishment if they will give up Blatter. Will also be questions over Platini now as well.

Can't see how the Russia and Qatar results can not be called into question now.

i think Russia will keep it but a bit less sure on Qatar.

They will all squeal like little pigs if they think they will get off a bit.

just to get a new head of FIFA will not do though they need to rid the organisation of many of these other dreadful people like Valcke who may even stand.

The whole setup needs looking at. Don't know what the answer is but I don't see how you can have the smallest countries in the world, places they barely play football having a vote and revenue share equal to the biggest when it comes to the World Cup.

There is a summary analysis of the FIFA income and expenditure here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-32923882

There does seem to be a lot of gaps in the information. Why do they need 1.5billion in the bank for "emergencies"?

under 10% of income is spent on the special projects that have made Blatter so popular in Africa and Asia. There is another 10% that is paid to the various members. BUT it is FIFA that is doing the spending not Blatter ..... he was just the front man who took all the credit and used it to his own advantage in staying in office for 17 years wasn't he?

The 1.5 billion is a contingency just in case a world cup is ever cancelled.
