Dean Emerson...... Great Player who should have played for England
If we were doing second favourite then I would say David Thompson. Bloody brilliant, he was.
Bizarrely the first 2 players that came to my mind aswell...Bugsy was hugely underated and hugely unlucky to get injured just before the cup final.Fortunate enough to have seen Tommy Hutch from when I first started going to HR mid seventies up until his departure in 1980. Great tho he was I was probs to young to class him as my all time favourite. From an adult perspective, for me it's Brian Borrows. His loyalty and service to the club is up there with the best. A solid, reliable defender, Scored a few cracking goals when he went forward, so unlucky to miss what would have been his career highlight. We wouldn't have made it all the way without his contribution. And er, I played most of my Sunday football in his position.
Dion dublin guaranteed 20 goals a season even if u played him a centre back deadly from corners
The late, great Ernie Machin deserves a mention here.
Not the most gifted, but a real workhorse who gave everything he had, every game.
Played a huge part in getting us into the top division and keeping us there during the early years.
Loved the club until he passed away a couple of years ago.
I always liked Terry Yorath. Always gave 100%. Hard as nails and a natural leader and uncompromising tackler - not many went past him, and those that did were addressed later in the game!
